Don't get too close. It's dark inside. It's where my demons hide.
It was eerie when Arnav got back home that night. His parents were out of town for the week and the house help had retired back home, seeing as it was way past midnight.
He fell face first on the bed with a tired sigh.. Today had definitely been a rollercoaster.
With a bitter chuckle, he slipped out of his clothes leaving him in just his boxers. He slipped into his bed and covered his eyes with his arm. His previous drug endeavours had left him with a bitter headache. And he so much despised the fact of going back to bed sober. It was usually at this time that his demons came to haunt him.
All the memories, the voices everything played in front of his closed eyes like a movie. A movie that he wished was deleted from his mind forever.
It was funny how 2 years ago he would smile himself to sleep and think over his day and pray to god the next one was better. Yes, he prayed. But the same god took something so important of his away from him. So far away that it was now out of his reach.
He would often wake up in the middle of the night screaming desperately for it to return to him. One of the reasons why he would only sleep for 4 hours. For, if the sleep was not long there are less chances of night terrors.
His demons had grown so big and deep that they now controlled him.
Today, seeing Adin save Khushi, and fighting for her, reminded him that he never fought. He didn't even put up a fight to save his precious. He let it slip through his fingers like sand.
He had surprised himself when he had cut Khushi's hair. But now that he thinks about it, it was predictable. He often destroys his weaknesses so that nobody could break his resolve. Not even himself.
He was admittedly enchanted by Khushi's beauty. Especially her long long hair. Those blacks that fell like a waterfall across her back against her waist had created a spell around him. He had wanted to run his finger through her hair. But he knew he couldn't. He would destroy anything he would touch.
Now he just saw the world in Monochrome. Either it's black or white and Khushi was a big spot of black screaming danger.
He had never bullied a girl till the extent of which he did today. He might have regret it greatly had it happened 2 years ago. But right now he was blinded by rage and revenge.
He had now become someone he despises the most. But in his eyes, this person puts his mind at rest. It was as if his sadistic side emerges every time he bullies a person. He wanted every person to know how it feels to be put down every time. And intents to show them exactly that.
And he was a tiny bit afraid because not matter how hard he tried to drown his demons, they knew how to swim. And now they had made a beautiful, Hazel eyed, now mid-back length raven haired girl their next victim. And lord have mercy on her.
But little did he know, that she was the light that would steer them away.

Khushi was not mourning her hair. She had finished with it a few hours back. But now she was crying over her broken soul. They had once again managed to break her and she had let them.
Be strong! She had been told a lot many times to count. But it wasn't easy. Not when the person who breaks you, was the least suspected.
The first person who had manhandled her was her once best friend - Lavanya. Them both were always attached at the hip. But when Adin hit puberty and Lavanya developed a crush on him, things started getting awkward. Khushi tried talking to Lavanya about how uncomfortable she was with the notion but Lavanya refused to have any of it.
She was a nice person but like any teenager, a boy ha blinded all her senses. Lavanya screamed at Khushi the foulest of the word, probably for the first time in her life, and swore to make her life a hell. And she kept her word.
Lavanya would never hurt her violently but her emotional jabs were far worse.
Lavanya had made friends of other girls and very conveniently told them all of Khushi's secrets. And those two girls told everyone else.
That day, the spark in Khushi dulled a bit. Her snarky comments were limited to either complete strangers or closest of her friends.
And yesterday, Arnav got to her unaware. She had never in her wildest dreams had thought that the person who saved her would become her tormentor.
It was like breeding a sheep for slaughter.
Was it all she was? A scapegoat?
If yes, then that had to change. Screw you Lavanya and rot in hell Raizada.
Khushi Gupta was not made to be tamed and she will show you exactly that.
Hold on tight, because you're about to be bit with a wrecking ball that swings harder than Miley Cyrus twerks.
