SAMEER:

SAMEER MOHAMMAD

Age
: 11

City: Mumbai

Sameer, a student of K P S Memorial School, Mumbai, is the most naughty boy in the contest and is full of energy. He sings effortlessly, and music is in his genes -- His great grand father was a musical exponent. Sameer is learning classical musical from his father Gani Mohammad (Ali-Gani fame singers and composers). Sameer's big wish is to meet Salman Khan some day, and he dreams of doing playback singing for him. Sameer loves to eat a lot, though it does not show up on his lean frame.

SANCHITA:

SANCHITA

Little Champs 2006 winner Sanchita Bhattacharya is all set to make her Bollywood debut as a playback singer in Rajat Kapoor's forthcoming film Mitthya. Sanchita has been roped in by Planman Motion Pictures and director Rajat Kapoor to sing an item number in the film, to be picturised on Neha Dhupia. The unit has already recorded the song with her. Says Sanchita about her experience, "I was extremely nervous at the recording studio on the first day. So far, I have sung popular numbers from Bollywood films, but singing an original track is difficult. The style of rendition has to be original," recalls Sanchita, who came with her father to record the song in Mumbai.

But how did she manage to bag this offer? "I guess Arindam Choudhuri from Planman Motion Pictures saw my performance in Little Champs and liked it. I was surprised to receive a call from his office. I got cold feet initially, but later agreed," she says. The film is likely to release early next year.

The song, 'Uda uda le ishq dil ko' has been composed by Sagar Desai, a Chicago-based music composer. The song comes as a dance track and as Sagar himself states, is difficult to sing. He says, "I'm amazed by the pace at which Sanchita picked up the song. It took us barely 15 minutes to do a scratch, which in itself was as good as the final recording."

The 14-year old Sanchita doesn't want to settle down in Mumbai right now. "I want to focus on my education and if I get a good offer, then I can always come to Mumbai and sing. I don't think distance really matters today," she says.
