Disclaimer: You may get disappointed as you read ahead so proceed at your own risk 😉😆

Ever since the whole concept of IPK Ek Jashn came to fore it seemed like each and everyone of us was somehow resurrected. No, we weren't dead (how obvious) but we can't deny that three years back, when ArShi left our TV screens, it left a void, a void so deep that no other show could fulfil.

I agree that just to see Sanaya or Barun, I would look into their new projects with keen interest, but I won't hold myself from saying that yes, I was happy for all their new endeavours, but as a true SaRun and ArShi fan, I was totally disappointed, because without the duo, it all seemed insipid.

Coming back to the present, every project, every story comes with its own share of ups and downs, appreciators and criticisers and while I do agree that everybody has the right to register their opinion and so they did, when many pointed out how Arnav was totally out of his character in IPK-Ek Jashn, how it seemed more Barun-ly than ASR, so on and so forth.

I was always the positive one (I still am) because I have seen people change, and for the better; get mellowed down and do things, CRAZY things, which one would have never even dreamt of in their own wildest nightmare!
Love does that to you, possessiveness does that to you, attachment does that to you!

So I have no complaint for that. Like someone made a post few days back, that Arnav really doesn't have a reason to be the ruthless ASR now, so why should he just put on a facade?
And that's totally legit! He's in love, he's rich, he's got his family, what else does any human need?

But that's not the point of the post.

After all this banter, now as a true fan I want to register my opinion on what's making me so downtrodden!

When it comes to daily soaps, I agree it is humanly impossible to give consistently good episodes, back to back twists and high points. We also understand that it is impossible for actors to give their 100% when they are working day in and day out, round the clock!
That's why I have always preferred watching shows like TVD, SPN, TO, etc. They come with a limited schedule, last a season and come back again six months later, and the cycle continues.

This gives writers ample scope to come up with good story lines, plot twists, etc, and actors get a much needed break and also the opportunity to exercise and explore other options.

NOW, we all knew Hotstar came up with the idea of IPK Ek Jashn for a limited span of only eight episodes.

My complaint here is, DUDE! You have got SaRun in one frame! The pair that is literally WORSHIPPED by millions of people worldwide! So much, that even after 3 years that your show ended, they are still all over the internet-- in fan fictions, in creative pictures, VMs, even in interviews that fans would watch like there's no tomorrow!

When you had EVERYTHING, then what makes you give us episodes where 50% of the story is over and STILL Arnav and Khushi didn't even share one second of screen space together, other than the plethora of flashback scenes, which every ArShian has already byhearted by now?!

I swear, I don't understand these writers. Being a journalist myself as well as a creative writer, my mind is always buzzing with ideas, especially when it comes to any favorite couple of the masses (not just ArShi), there are fan fiction writers all over the web, who have beautifully created stories, one shots, short stories and so much more-- I wish these TV writers could get some inspiration from them and do something worthwhile! My hopes are thrashed since out of 8, 5 episodes are already over!

I'm sorry if I sound rude, my intention is not to offend ANYONE, not even the writers, because I totally appreciate the fact that at least we are getting to SEE something IPK related after all these years. My only issue is, when you had Barun and Sanaya TOGETHER, who are always ready to give their best, then why not put it to proper use and give us episodes where we can see THEIR (ArShi's) life together after a gap of three years?

Do feel free to express what you guys feel! 😊

I totally get what you're trying to say...
I have watched IPK over from start to end multiple times, and i find myself frustrated during the flashback scenes. Not again?

They are summarizing the story for us in flashback. Which is fine if it lasted 2 episodes tops. But now its been 4 bits of episodes out of 8, and its been more flashback than anything?

When I write stories, I plan the chapters ahead and what will happen when etc. But here, it looks like they had 2 days to shoot with the 5 actors and they didn't plan anything.

I am not bashing.

The charm of IPK is Arnav and Khushi, their fights, their love and their interactions with family.

Hopefully the next 4 episodes capitalize on that..😊

In fact did I catch a little of the old ASR anger at the end when Khushi scolded him and wanted to go to Lucknow? To be honest, I'm tired of her anger with him already. If she knew her husband, she would know he was swimming nose deep in guilt already...😆

Well said!👏
And I totally agree with your inference on the two-days shoot without a proper script plan.

I mean, come on! How hard it is to write an epilogue on ArShi?!
They could have literally taken reference from any FF or SS!

They quite well know that if fans could stick through the most senseless tracks of IPK; Kamlesh khabri track, kidnap track, sheetal track, to name a few, just to get a GLIMPSE of ArShi together, then they should have known that a fair enough happy ending showing them together, maybe with a kid or something would have overwhelmed us exponentially! 😳

But alas!🥱

I really hope the last three episodes show us something worthwhile, else my IPK dream ending would forevermore remain an Adhuri Kahani

Well said.👏 I completely agree with everything thing that you said. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining but I'm just so disappointed and frustrated. All of the actors could've been utilized better and their story lines could've been better, too. I've read so many fantastic stories on the forum which most were written by non-writers, so there's no excuse for Ek Jashn to be so poorly written when they have professional writers. To be honest, when I found out that not all of the cast was going to be a part of Ek Jashn, I felt completely crushed. I should've kept my expectations low after that.😒

I second you.
Besides, they could have come up with a much better idea of the plot three years later
They could have shown ASR forgetting the anniversary, but Khushi being with him under the same roof and then ASR doing all sort of things to manaofy her..
They could have also used a pregnancy plot for the third anniversary, as it would have made a perfect gift from Khushi to Arnav on their wedding anniversary! This was a recurrent track in almost every FF or SS that dealt with their anniversary!

But alas! We all know, that just two episodes are remaining in the Jashn, and I'm really really lowering my expectation now, cuz it seems that nothing of that sort's going to happen! 😭
