Anyways, coming to the chapter, I think it was the cutest chapter of this story till date. Somehow, after reading it, I was reminded of Khushi from MKM II for some reason. Just the light-heartedness & the way she pulled a serious Arnav's leg, taking care of his likes when getting the crepe made for him, it just had shades of that warm & vivacious Khushi from MKM II. ❤️
It was really cute to see poor Arnav, so desperate to hear those three beautiful words that are literally like music to his ears, uttered from the delectable mouth of his Princess... And what do you know, after relentless pursuit over three long never ending days, she finally waltzes in without a care in the world, with no urgency to declare her feelings for him and seems to be only worried about what she's going to eat!!! LOL I could literally see Arnav wanting to pull out all his hair by then. Grrr...
But then, going by his own confession in the previous chapter, he was ready to grovel, so there you go, she is making him grovel alright. 😆 So no complaining. 😉 But Khushi being the soft-hearted, kind & generous person she is, wasn't going to make him suffer unnecessarily, she told him, how she planned to meet him regularly without causing alarm bells to go off in Aakash's head.
Awww, Arnav's, confession about his loyalty towards Khushi was so touching. Like her, he too has been in love with her all his life. There is or has been no one else for either them. True love is what they have for each other, which is such a rarity these days...
Khushi, pulling Arnav's leg over Archer Calhill was the cutest part of this update. To see a ruthless, & hard nosed underworld leader splutter & stammer like that, was downright hilarious. How often do you get to see an underworld kingpin, literally scared out of wits, hmmm?? I can safely say, not that much. 😉
Coming to her last promise that she wanted to extract from Arnav... Wonder, what Arnav is going to say to her?? Will he say, will it be ok with her if her beloved brother, kill him instead? Obviously as he won't be able to defend himself?? I hope Khushi, understands, the promise could endanger Arnav's life. Maybe a compromise can be worked out that unless Aakash threatens Arnav's life, Arnav won't attack Aakash first...
Which brings me to the main crux of this update... The big secret that Arnav is hiding from Khushi?? Why will it go to the grave with him? What is the worst transgression that Arnav has committed? "And to think of it, she hasn't learned of his worst transgression yet." Why is he so sure that by revealing it to Khushi will be the end of their nascent relationship?? They could NOT be related by blood, because that would be incest. That's not palatable at all. Yuck! So, what other secret is big enough to bring an end to his relationship with Khushi?? Scratching my head for the transgression that Arnav could have committed?? Did he kill her pet dog or kitten or hamster or rabbit when they were kids?? 😆
To dig some more... I want to go back to the earlier chapters, wherein Arnav's early days at Vaghela house came about...
There is definitely a mystery behind Arnav's relationship with Ranjan Vaghela (RV)...
Firstly, why did Ranjan Vaghela (RV) pick up Arnav from Vrinda's death-bed?? What was Vrinda's relationship to RV? Is Arnav really his son with Vrinda or is Arnav the son of a person who helped RV, maybe even gave up his life when RV was in a dire situation? And he was just returning the favor by taking an orphaned Arnvav under his care? A promise he perhaps made to Arnav's father? But, the way Aakash always addresses Arnav as "bas***d", it seems, that Arnav may have been born out of wedlock & is a fact that is known to at least Aakash, if not Lalaji as well... But then Arnav seems to have no confusion about his parentage. His thought processes are not at all like he seems to know that he is Ranjan Vaghela's son at all... He refers to him as "Uncle" throughout even while thinking about him. So his relation to RV still remains mysterious to me.
Secondly, Ranjan, had extracted a promise from Lalaji on his deathbed that he would not harm Arnav, that is indicative of Ranjan's obligation towards Arnav. Why did he extract that promise from Lalaji? And why did Lalaji think that "this was the least he could do for his son, whom he'd pushed to his untimely death with his own two hands. A son who had made sacrifices all his life for this business and this family." In what way did Lalaji push RV towards his own death?? And what sacrifices did RV make for his family??
Thirdly, at the same time, RV had silently begged off of a grief stricken Arnav not to kill Aakash on his deathbed. But why, why did RV think that Arnav might want to kill Akash off someday?? So what is the reason that Arnav took a few years to find out?? What crime has Aakash committed that Arnav cannot forgive him? Is Aakash the cause of Arnav's father's death?? And because of the kindness RV had bestowed on him, Arnav has spared Aakash so far.
Then there remains the mystery of Khushi's weird mother... Why did she want to kill Khushi?? No mother, in her right mind would want to kill her own child. So that begs the question, is Khushi not her child?? But then Aakash claims in one chapter that Khushi looks exactly like their mother... So, who is Khushi?? Is she really Aakash's sister or is she another love-child of RV? Lalaji certainly treats her as a legitimate grandchild...
So many questions swirling in my head, hoping you can shed light on some of these questions soon.
Finally, that brings me to the last thing that struck me in this chapter... The title of this story... So whose Best Laid Plans are we talking about here?? Arnav's or Aakash's or Lalaji's?? 😉
Because as we all know, best laid plans of men & mice often go awry... So, if I were to take a guess, Arnav is the man here & Aakash & Lalaji are the mice... Heeheehee 😛
