Apart from Shah Rukh and Kajol, Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan will also be seen as a couple in the much-awaited film Dilwale. The Heropanti star says their screen love story is completely different to Shah Rukh and Kajol.
Given that Dilwale is also Shah Rukh and Kajol's comeback film, were you sceptical about the screen space you would be given in the film?
See, it's a family entertainer firstly; it's not about one person or one pair. I think Rohit Shetty is very clear and every character's track is separate. You can't really overshadow another person or think of being overshadowed. And who is not excited about Shah Rukh and Kajol coming back together? Even I am very excited but their love story is very different from Varun and my love story onscreen. The music to their love story is also different from the music of our love story. It's actually not something that you can compare.
What was it like to work with senior stars like Shah Rukh and Kajol?
Both of them are so experienced and so mature as actors that they just make you better as an actor too. When I heard the story, I said that since it's the story of a family, we all have to actually be like a family; that was even more exciting actually.
Varun Dhawan jokes you were given the title Mr Bachchan' on the sets because of your height.
Firstly, the person who gave me the name was Rohit Shetty, who himself is Mr Bachchan's height. I am not as tall as Rohit Shetty. He used to call me that every time I had to shoot the shot because everyone had to bring their patlas (stools to stand upon). Actually, the only person who was normal (about my height) was Shah Rukh sir. I remember I had a scene with him and they gave him a patla and I was like Sorry'. He said, No, no after a long time I am working with short actress (Kajol), otherwise I have done so many films will tall actress like Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma. I am around Deepika's height so he was really normal. He said, I like tall women'.
Given a chance would you prefer Shah Rukh as a boyfriend, husband or a brother?
Never a brother. He is perfect in every way but I will never make him my brother. (You) can't make Shah Rukh Khan your brother.
