The prosecution, in the 2002 case, informed the Bombay High Court that the trial that the court has sentenced the actor to was correct and that the case was proved to be beyond any skepticism, reported Dnaindia.com.

Public prosecutor, Sandeep Shinde has asked the court to not show any leniency towards the convicted actor and uphold the sentence given to him this year by a sessions court.

Justice AR Joshi is presently hearing the actor's appeal against the conviction order. Shinde and prosecutor, Purnima Kantharia, in their arguments, said that the actor was drunk at the time of the accident and was smelling of alcohol when brought to the hospital for a medical check-up the next day.

It further dismissed the theory that Salman's driver, Ashok Singh, was driving the car at the time of the accident and that he had lost control of the vehicle after its tyre burst. It argued that the tyre burst only after the car climbed up the stairs of the bakery.

Relying on the testimony of the injured and other circumstantial evidence, the prosecution argued that Salman was behind the wheel at the time of the accident, thus refuting the claim of the defence that there were four persons in the car and Khan was not driving the vehicle.

Salman was accused of ramming his car into a shop in Bandra, killing one person and injuring three others in 2002.Khan was convicted for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. He has been sentenced five years imprisonment and is presently out on bail granted by the High Court.

Reminds me of the Kdrama Angry Mom. 😆 Such a good show, and a realistic ending about the court verdicts.
