I checked Viji, Uttara was not there in that specific scene. She was present when Laksh asked Sanskaar about being over defensive - the other scene that you are mentioning - Uttara was absent. It was Durgaprasad, Annapurna and Sujata only. š³
You know Viji, I think that is why she has come out and confessed. She has sensed something is wrong and she decided to come out in the open. However I dont know why she would not let out Laksh's name? Either she wants him to continue or she thinks she can blackmail him to stop.
I still not hold her responsible for being manipulated so easily by Laksh only because she is young who has a mother who might constantly blabber about how Swara is ruining his brother's life. Even if she did not ask Sanskaar, there was enough to go on what can be seen. Swara and Sanskaar sleeping in different room, Swara's constant jabber of divorce (anyone could have informed her) could have rattled her. And we all know how MM waasis are with confrontation - dont we? š They want to create a tamasha out of a confrontation or they like to assume things. š š
Oh dear...š i must have conflated my memory of that earlier scene (when Lakshya asks Sanskaar sarcastically why he's being so defensive), where Uttara was present, with the later one where he accuses Sanskaar in front of Durga Prasad and others, of wanting to destroy evidence.
Yeah, I do see how Uttara could be taken in. But still (and this is perhaps we have the benefit of knowing how creepy lakshya is of late), even his asking Sanskaar why he is defensive, seemed so suspect. As if he wanted to put some doubts in Swara's mind. If Uttara was a bright spark, she out to have picked up something there. š
But like you said, this is MM. She must have got so much scandalous gossip from her badi ma and mom...plus Sanskaar and Swara sleeping in separate rooms...I do wish they'd shown her being smarter though...there are enough dumbos in that house as it is...
