When I first read about the real meaning of Manik's tattoo some weeks back, I was hoping that we get a reveal of the same in the show.
It happened. Just not in any way I had imagined. To me, this was another opportunity to try & get 'our Manan' back...intensity, love, and that perfect fit between two people where there is no space for anyone else.
What we got was - disinterested question, luke warm intense reply while she kind of sort of touches the tattoo, 'oh ok' kind of response...and then ' please kindly wear your shirt'.
In my head, the scene I had dreamt of had so much more -
- the question...more possessive...' you've never told me about this tattoo, I want to know - I have a right to'. Hand lingering on the tattoo, tracing it.
- the reply...filled with amazement that it really WAS destiny...he had it done when she hadn't come into his life...but he had hoped to find her...find his star. And that he hadn't told anyone because it was a soft part of him which was locked away. Holding her face, interlocking their hands.
- the reaction - love, and amazement again at the miracle that is their destiny. Their 'hamesha' was pre written, even if they didn't know it...as permanent as the tattoo. Squeezing his hand, touching their foreheads together.
BUT - maybe I'm just dreaming of a Manan that no longer exists. Niti's discomfort gets worse with each episode - and Parth's latest IV shows he is sad and disinterested too. Writers and director I've given up on.
Please wrap this up - so we can atleast remember some good Manan moments and retain the imagination to conjure up more...before it gets overwhelmed by mediocre...well, everything.
