BB Vs Viewers Vs Entertainment
This season of BB is the most frustrating and uneventful one to watch.
I think in all of the previous BB seasons I have never seen more physically, mentally and emotionally relaxed contestants who are provided with everything before they even have to realise its missing...and ones that are so well slept and well fed that their food never seems to be finish no matter how many times and how many people cook in a day.
Before anyone raises questions about what I mean by that is that so far all their tasks have been so easy compared to previous season and even then they complain and don't finish the tasks properly. Their fight and conflicts feel fake and forced...as if their clashes are an after thought of them realising that the day is ending and they haven't provided any content/footage rather than any organic conflicts or even conflicts that are well thought out and planned and schemed over.
During previous seasons there have been tasks where HMs were sleep deprived for ages, luxury deprived and also food deprived, as well as appropriately punished for not complying with the rules whether its house rules or task rules...these HMs have been there months and they still haven't figured out what the house chores and the duties that are and how are they needed to be assigned?
It has always been clear that there have been two departments...kitchen and cleaning departments. The kitchen department is broken down into cooking and washing dishes and the cleaning department is broken down into cleaning different sections like the main room, bedroom and bathroom...its as simple as that, and in all the previous seasons I haven't seen more confused contestant like these, who are running around like headless chicken completely clueless to the basics functions of the BB house and without having done any hard tasks and/or have experienced a real shortage of food...???
This makes me think is that maybe Rimi was rightly informed in her views about the house this year, not in that they get canteen food but that this year at least the food shortage/rationing doesn't seem to be and wouldn't be a true problem for the HMs unlike previous seasons where there have been serious meetings held for this matter alone to make sure they are not left without food by the end of the week etc...and all this ease despite not having properly completed a lot of the luxury budget tasks, including the last one..the result of which is still unclear in terms of what are the repercussions of having a task thats only been completed half? and this applies to both the HMs and BB show itself.
While the viewers are complaining about no real entertainment...its also because none of the contestants have been provided with the opportunities, in terms of the tasks and the hardships the have faced in the previous season which might allow these HMs to actually so something...nowhere do they ever look worried or as if they are struggling with living in BB house, which is supposed to be a show that pushes your limits and makes you question why you entered in the first place etc and the house is supposed to feel limited in their resources etc...
Also before anyone mentions that Rimi and Mandana have said that they wanted to go home...well lets just say that after having made that statement and then fighting tooth and nail to win an immunity task, Mandana disproves her own statement and that while Rimi has definitely come with quite a lot of notions regarding the easiness of the place, she at least has proven to be consistent and not seek immunity...although can we say she is wrong about how easy she thought it was going to be?
if what we have seen is any indication then I am guessing the other hours that they don't show us must go much more smoothly for the HMs, its evident that since the episodes they have shown us are the supposed 'footage' part then how mellow and easy going is the rest of the time in BB house for these contestant?
So this season we have complacent and almost zombie-like contestants combined with uncreative and complacent BB team who have not been able to come up with any concept in a task which provides entertainment...despite them resorting to the lazy way out by starting a love angle/triangle bringing people with history of clashes on the outside into the house = none of it has resulted in any interesting conversations and conflicts and none of them were interesting or captivating but were instead cringeworthy and gave me second hand embarrassment because of the forced nature of these old tricks...So what was the point of resorting to these old tricks when the people in question seem to be over the issues they are supposed to be fighting about and providing content to the BB team?
I would rather have contestants that are interesting to watch and see their interactions with people from different walks of life or at least ones who are challenged in the house in some way...the only person I see being challenged is Rimi and that too by default, of not being eliminated on the weekends...otherwise show me one contestant who is actually challenged by anything and anyone in the house? BB himself seems apologetic and confused since the launch of this season...as if the BB Team doesn't seem to understand the concept of their own show?
Still since I have started this season so I will most likely keep up and try to finish watching it till the end 😕😆 and unlike BB and the show I dont have any favourites to even show favouritism towards or fight for passionately during the week cant be a plan... so I guess good luck to all the others out there like me and congratulations to the ones who have managed to find a favourite in this bunch lol. I don't even blame the contestants much since they have nothing to work with so are stuck in the same cycle since Day 1.
