Fearing that the media will quiz her on her troubled marriage, Shweta Tiwari refuses to attend Jjhoom's press conference

Come October 19 and Shweta Tiwari had to attend Sahara One's Jjhoom press conference in a suburban five star hotel. But Shweta aka Prerna of Kasautii Zindagi Kay has already opted out of the gathering and informed the channel authorities about her decision. Shweta Tiwari, who has been avoiding the media ever since her separation from husband Raja Chaudhary, is still not willing to divulge any details about what went wrong in her nine-year-long marriage.

After her break up with husband Raja, rumours were rife that Shweta was getting close to film director Mahesh Manjrekar. However, she has remained tight-lipped about her friendship with the filmmaker. If sources are to be believed Shweta has clearly told Sahara One, 'If you cannot assure me that the media will not ask me for an interview about my personal life, I will not attend the event.'

Our source from the channel reveals that Shweta is very stubborn about her decision to stay away from the event. The source says, "Shweta is the main attraction on the show. The media will be terribly disappointed if she does not talk to them. We are trying to make her see light, but she just does not want to listen. We cannot order the media to not approach Shweta and ask her questions? Or else we will have to provide her tight security and let her make a quick exit through the back door," the source adds.

Meanwhile, a friend of Shweta says that the actress' demands are but natural. "If she wanted to speak about the

turbulence in her private life, she would have spoken long back. She is a very private person. Why should she open her mouth now? The media is bound to ask her uncomfortable questions on Raja and Mahesh."

Hubby Raja says, "I wouldn't mind if Shweta wants to talk to the media. I have no issue as I have openly spoken about our problems. In fact, I am surprised that she has laid such a condition with Sahara One."

Shweta's singing partner on the show, Suresh Wadkar, claims that he is not aware about Shweta's conditions. He says, "I will attend the press conference and meet the media. I am a part of the show and I feel that I should be there. Shweta's decision is her own."

Shewta Tiwari remained unavailable for comment.
