Chapter Twenty

Sanyukta was pacing in her room nervously. Dressed in bridal wear, knowing that today was the biggest day of her life - it was today that would determine whether her future was with Parth or with Randhir.

Her anxiousness had no limits - it was growing exponentially. Come on Vidhushi, please, she thought. I'm counting on you.

Earlier today

Sanyukta knocked on the door nervously - this was the one and only time she had. She hadn't exactly ever been friends with Vidhushi, so she didn't know how she would take it, but it was crucial of her to get this done... everyone's lives depended on it.

Vidhushi opened the door and upon seeing Sanyukta, she looked up at her with shock.

"Sanyukta?" Vidhushi asked, stunned. "What are you doing here? I mean... come in but... I didn't expect -"

"No, I know, it's okay," Sanyukta interrupted. "Vidhushi, I actually wanted to say something to you. I... I have a marriage tonight. With Parth, and then Randhir will be yours - all yours."

Vidhushi looked at Sanyukta with surprise, completely blown away by what she had just heard from her ex classmate.

"Sanyukta what's wrong with you?" Vidhushi nearly shrieked. "Are you crazy? Randhir loves you! You don't know how long I tried to get him to move on, but he was so stuck. He's going to die!"

"I know but he's forcing me to do it!" Sanyukta complained. "Vidhushi I don't know what to do. I'll feel guilty if I stop the wedding because Parth loves me... he's been waiting for me all these years, and he's been my only support. But I can't forget Randhir."

Vidhushi thought about it for a moment and then smiled.

"Leave it to me - when's the wedding?" she asked.

"In the evening, it'll probably start after seven," Sanyukta informed her.

"Perfect. Don't worry about it - I'll be there and the wedding will not take place," Vidhushi said with a smirk.

"What are you going to do?" Sanyukta asked fearfully.

"I can't tell you, because I don't want you to be in on it. It's my plan and only mine, so you go ahead, get ready and go through with it," Vidhushi said happily.

Sanyukta nodded and turned around to leave. She didn't exactly trust Vidhushi, but at this moment she had no other option but to have faith.

"Vidhushi," Sanyukta said, turning around. "Thank you."

Vidhushi smiled at her.

"Don't worry about it - it's the least I could do," she said happily.

Then Sanyukta went to meet Randhir, her heart beating ecstatically at the pregnancy truth that she was about to tell him.

Sanyukta truly did not know what the plan was, but she was going to believe in it. She couldn't marry Parth because her soul and whole existence was already Randhir's. How could she even be bound to someone else?

"Oh Randhir, I love you very much," she said out loud, rubbing her sweaty hands together nervously. "I can't live without you."

She heard a knock on the door and Sanyukta went to open it. It was Randhir and Shraddha standing there together.

"Shraddha wants to say something to you," Randhir said matter-of-factly.

Sanyukta looked at Randhir suspiciously. He better not have manipulated their daughter into saying something to her that would make her feel bad.

"Mommy I want Parth Uncle to be my Daddy," Shraddha said tearfully.

"Randhir," Sanyukta hissed. "Stop filling the poor girl's mind with silly thoughts. Shraddha come here."

Sanyukta fell down to her knees and Shraddha hugged her mom tightly.

"Mommy, Daddy... I mean Randhir Uncle told me to say that to you. I just want you to be happy Mommy... I can't see you crying. I know you cried a lot, but not anymore, please?" she asked, sobbing.

Sanyukta shot a glare at Randhir for making their daughter cry. What was wrong with him? Was he so blind in his obsession to unite her with Parth, that he wasn't able to see the tears of his daughter?

Sanyukta rubbed Shraddha's back comfortingly before standing up.

"Shraddha, don't worry. What'll happen today will be for the best. You go to your room and get ready okay?" she asked her daughter.

Shraddha nodded and left. Sanyukta was about to close the door behind her so she could give her two cents to Randhir, but Randhir grabbed her wrist, stopping her from closing the door.

"I'm not staying in a locked room with you," he said darkly.

"What?" she asked, annoyed. "Fine! I don't want to be with you either - when you lose me and you cry tears of blood, you'll know what you did!"

She didn't mean a word she said - she wanted Randhir to be happy... and she knew that he was only trying to see her happy, but he just didn't understand that her happiness was with him.

"It's time for the wedding. The pandit was calling," he informed, and then he grabbed Sanyukta's wrist, pulling her out of the room.

"What? There's still like half an hour? What are you doing?" she nearly yelled, but he was already pulling her down, causing her eyes to fill up with tears. "Randir... please."

She was begging now, but she knew what his plan was - to get this wedding done as quickly as possible so that no interference would come. She shouldn't have told him about Vidhushi. She was stupid.

Sanyukta fell to the ground, refusing to be pulled by him.

"No!" she refused. "Randhir no!"

He grabbed her arm and pulled her back up, dragging her down the stairs and towards the mandap.

"I hate you!" she whispered darkly. "Fine. I'll get married, but you watch. Just watch Randhir, how this is going to turn around on you."

Parth, who was already sitting down, looked up with shock as Randhir pulled Sanyukta towards the wedding mandap.

As she went to take her seat, Randhir smiled sadly.

"I hope it turns around on me, because God knows I deserve it," he whispered to himself painfully, his heart aching. "I don't deserve to have you in my life because I hurt you, I blamed you, I only made you suffer. It is my turn to suffer now. You will be happy, trust me, you will... you're much better off without me."

As a tear fell from his eye, he turned around to wipe it so Sanyukta wouldn't see.

Shraddha saw instead.

Its a treat to read this after so many months ...I just love love love this story ...so Randhir is almost forcing Sanyu to get married to parth ...i guess shardhha will help stopping the marriage along with vidushi?? 🤔
