Deepika Padukone, born 5 January 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark, is an Indian model & Actress. She is the daughter of former badminton Champion Prakash Padukone. Her mother tongue is Konkani. Deepika has a younger sister named Anisha.

Deepika made modeling appearances in print and television advertising campaigns for Liril, Close-Up toothpaste and Limca, receiving many prestigious modeling offers, including brand ambassadorship of the Jewels of India, an annual jewelery exhibition. She hit the international scene when Maybelline made her their new international cover-girl face.

At the fifth annual Kingfisher fashionAwards, for Indian models and designers, she was awarded the title of Model of the Year. Shortly after wards, she was chosen as one of the models for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar for 2006, thus cementing her reputation as a supermodel. She also bagged two trophies at the Idea Zee F Awards in 2006 - female Model of the year (Commercial Assignments) and Fresh Face of the year.

She became noticed by director Farah Khan and it was then that she was cast alongside Shahrukh Khan in the movie Om Shanti Om.

In 2013 Deepika turned designer and paired up with noted

fashion designer brand Van Hensen and designed dresses and ladies purses. 2013 proved to be one successful year for Deepika with four hits in the box office and to finish the year Deepika turn writer and held a party for her success.

In 2014 Deepika started the year by celebrating her birthday in New York fans across the globe wished the diva via twitter and facebook.

Then she went on to appear in the yearly calendar for Dabboo then the noted award season started with the Life Ok Star Screen Awards where her went on to win the best actress award for Chennai express and hero award.

In March 2014 Deepika held a special chat for her fans on Facebook as a gift and thanks of her love of 15 M fans.

In March 2014 Deepika again paired up again with Van Hensen for their special clothing line for Summer and spring.. Fans got the chance to walk the ramp with her.

n April 2014 the award season ends with Deepika winning the entertainer of the year in the IIFFA 2014 and the best actress for Chennai Express.

2014 looks to forward to bring new heights in Deepika's acting skills with such films of Finding Fanny and Happy New Year.

To end the year Deepika went back to her school where she met her teachers and her teachers praised her work from the movie Chennai Express and in return said to her hindi teacher that is because of you i know and speak hindi well.

By the years end the award season for the movies of 2014 began and she won her first award for this season for Happy New Year.

Deepika is to finish off shooting her movie Piku by the end of December.

2015 started well for Deepika with her first release Piku gaining box office success in India and internationally, critics praised her performance saying it is her best performance to date.

Deepika is to have another two releases in the rest of the year both are in the most wanted to watch list; Tamasha

and Bajrao Mastani.

October 11th she launched a foundation; Live Love Laugh Foundation to help fight depression as she had a battle with depression but won and she wanted to spread awareness of depression and help people who need the help.

October 15th she announce her own clothing line All about you from Deepika Padukone with Myntra.
