Arakshi Horror: Rebecca.. The Voice That Never Dies

Prologue:

Autumn, 1955

She screamed and screamed but no one came at her rescue. Her screams ended with sobs. Why fate has been so cruel with her? What is her fault at all this? She stayed at that state for hours. Then slowly she dragged her beaten form to the mirror. She barely recognized herself. Her full body was covered in marks and bloods.. She bite her lower lip to bit back another sob.

Suddenly a sound caught her attention. Someone's coming. A sound of unstable footstep confirmed the identity. A tremor ran through her spine. Not again. Not today. Not again ever. She wouldn't be able to bear anymore. She looked here and there and then made up her mind. She went to the window and opened it. It had no barricades. She placed her berated form in the window and looked back at the room for the last time. She strained her ear. The footstep is yet to reach the second floor. She went to the wall and cut her finger with sharp teeth. Then she wrote her name in the filthy wall.

Girl: Death is not the end of everything.

With those final words she ran to the window and jumped. She wouldn't have died but her body had been tortured so badly that she died instantly.

Autumn, 2015

ETF Office

Team sighed in relief. Another case solved and another feather in their hat. The case has been actually a hard one. They just finished their reports and was about to head home when Sameer came out from his cabin and stopped everyone.

Sameer: Guys, ek khabar hai. Hame kal subah Gourangpur ke lye rouana hona hai. Waha pe ek ke bad ek khun ho raha hai. Aur Minister sahib chahte hai ki haam waha jaye aur jaldse jald yeh case solve kare.

Whole team became happy. They hardly get any chance of outing. Though they are going for a case it will be fun.

Ayesha: Sir, waha jakar haam rahenge kaha?

Sameer: Usska bandobast waha ke Sarpanch karke rakhenge. Aur haan waha pata nehi kitna din rehna pade jarurat ki sari cheeze aur kapde pack kar lena.

So, next morning they started their journey. Once they got out from Mumbai the view started changing. It started becoming more soothing and beautiful. It was a long way so they had to stop the car for lunch. After finishing they resumed their journey again.

Arjun was driving with Sameer beside him. Sakshi, Ayesha and Chotu were in backseat. Shree was in his bike and Liza was riding with him.

The fact that was bugging Arjun that after hearing the news of Gourangpur Sakshi became unusually quiet. Something was bothering her but what? Of course, he could've ask her directly but dog will chew his tongue before he enquires about her well-being. God! Why he ever agreed to marry again? Yes his mother. She blackmailed him that if doesn't marry then she severe all contact with him. Then Sameer put the idea of marrying Sakshi in his head. What does that kamina said? Yes..

Flashback

Kisi anjaan ladki se shadi karne se accha hai ki tu Sakshi se hi shadi karle. Pyar karti hai tujhse. Tujhe bohot acche se janti bhi hai. Samajhti hai tujhe. Usse tere past ke bade mein pata bhi hai. Aur raha sawal iss rishte ko nibhane ka to thoda time le. I am sure eventually tu Sakshi ko apni patni ke rup mein suikar bhi kar lega.

Flashback Ends

So, one week ago they got married and Sakshi moved into his house. Sometimes he thinks that irritating him is Sakshi's one and only goal. Not that isn't ready to move on. Actually he is. After his first wife Roshni died in a tragic accident he never thought it as possible. But as people say every wound heals by passing time. He also learnt to keep all the happy memories. Now whenever he remembers Roshni a slow smile touch his rather somber face. After Shree and Liza got married, the thought of having a family grew stronger. But with Sakshi it's next to impossible. Hell will sprout roses before he ever goes anywhere near this woman. Hmm, back to the woman what could've happen to her!

After they reached their destination they went to the Sarpanch. But what they heard from him no less than a shock. The Sarpanch couldn't make any arrangements for them.

Sameer: Damn it. Aab haam kaha rahenge? Jungle pe?

Everyone was fuming and wondering what to do when Sakshi spoke up in a meek voice.

Sakshi: Yehi mein mera ek pushtayni ghar hai. Agar tumlog chaho..

Sameer was so relieved that he didn't let Sakshi finish her sentence.

Sameer: Thank God Sakshi. You are a savior.

They were so relieved that except Arjun. Because he sensed a hesitation a strange fear in her eyes. But he dismissed it. So, they bought foods and started towards Sakshi's house. They had to cross the jungle to reach there. But when they reached there every hair on their neck stood up. There is something about the house that put the mind in unease. It was a huge tow story mansion.

Shree: Yar Sakshi! Iss gharka naam D'costa Mansion kiyu hai?

Sakshi: Yeh meri dadi ka family mansion hai. Wohlog Christian the. After meeting my grandfather they fall in love and got married. But they never changed religion. Phir mere dad aye. Wohto kisi bhi religion pe bharosa nehi rakhte. Aur meri mom is a strong believer of Hindu. So, main bhi Hinduism follow karti hoom.

Everyone nodded but couldn't shake up the feeling of uneasiness.

Sameer: Tum yaha pehli bar aa rahi ho?

Sakshi flinched.

Sakshi: Nehi. Bachpan mein ekbar ayi thi. Jab meri dadi ki death ho gyi to pata chala unhone yeh ghar mere naam karke gye hai. In fact tab hi hamein pata chala ki dadi ka ek mansion bhi hai.. (changing the topic).. tumlog ek minute ruko main gate khol deta hoom. Yaha koi maid nehi milega. Par roj subah ek buda baba ake sab saf karke rakhke jate hai.

Sakshi opened the main gate and Sameer drove the car inside. After getting down they went inside. Surprisingly everything was on their right state and there was not a single dust to be seen. It was so silent everywhere that everyone even Arjun didn't feel like talking. Suddenly a deadly scream pierced the silence like a knife. It was similar to a woman's voice but it held an edge that told them no earthly creature can scream like that.
