One of the most loved films of 2000 - 'Mohabbatein' has clocked 15 years today! And though it's been 15 long years since the film came out, it is still loved, admired and watched, the way it always was, with the same amount of enthusiasm and passion. From teaching us to stay loyal with our lovers, to writing them love letters on the brown leaf, to turning rebellious in love, this Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer has taught us all. And to celebrate this occasion, we jot down few reasons as to why we still love this romantic film!
1. Sanskari & strict Amitabh Bachchan: Agree to it or no, but many of us fell in love with the parampara, pratishtha and anushasan following father played by Amitabh Bachchan. Despite his strict nature and old-school thoughts, he was one of the most loved characters in the film.
2. The adorable Shah Rukh Khan: Sigh! This man had us gushing over him through out the film. Be it as the 'love guru' music professor or the cute teenage guy trying to impress his girl, SRK was truly adorable in the film.
3. Mesmerizing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: Though she had a very small part to play in the film, but she still managed to make many go weak in their knees! Her innocent eyes, cute love gestures, a doting daughter, a loyal lover - Ash played all the roles and with such great ease!
4. And their heart wrenching Mohabbatein: Their romance in snow-clad mountains, exchanges of love-letters on that small little brown leaf, their nok-jhok was truly the highlight of the film! SRK-Aishwarya's romance stole our heart away...
5. Obsessed lovers Uday, Jugal & Jimmy: The over enthusiastic Uday Chopra, shy Jugal Hansraj and cute Jimmy Shergill reminded many of their teenage days and played a very relatable characters.
6. Passionate Shamita, Kim & Preeti: So did the ladies! Shamita Shetty, Kim Sharma and Preeti Jhangiani made every guy fall in love with their adahs! Remember their dance of passion on Mohabbatein love theme?
7. Naughty Anupam Kher & Archana Puran Singh: Whether you admit it or no, but the naughty banter that Anupam Kher and Archana Puran Singh shared, made it easier to sit through the 3 hour long film. Hai na?
8. Whistle worthy dialogues: The film's dialogue were of a different level with each and every line receiving claps and woots from the audience. In fact, few of the dialogues are famous even today - For eg. 'Koi pyar kare toh tumse kare, tum jaise ho waise kare ... koi tumko badal ke pyar kare, toh woh pyar nahi woh sauda kare ... aur saheba, pyar mein sauda nahi hota ... right?"
9. Oh-so-melodious songs: The film boasted of 8 songs and all of them went on to become chartbusters back then. Be it the soulful 'Chalte Chalte', 'Humko Hami Se Chura Lo', or the naughty 'Aankhen Khuli Ho Ya Ho Bandh', 'Soni Soni Ankhiyon Wali', the songs were an instant hit with the 'Mohabbat' loving audience!
