A massive earthquake measuring 7.5 on the Richter scale today jolted north India, with panic-stricken people rushing out of houses and buildings that shook during the temblor lasting almost a minute. According to reports, four people have been killed in northwestern Pakistan. Pakistani rescue official said 29 people killed in northwestern Pakistan by Afghan quake. The earthquake epicentred in the Hindukush mountain range in Afghanistan struck at around 2.40 PM, sending ripples across several states like Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, the National Capital Region (NCR), Punjab, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan.

At least 29 people killed in Afghanistan and Pakistan - reports

Various hospitals and government officials are reporting death and injury rates.

On top of the five people reportedly killed in Afghanistan, the Associated Press reports that at least 12 students at a girls' school were killed in a stampede as they tried to get out of the shaking building in Afghanistan's Takhar province, west of Badakahshan.
