Alia Bhatt will soon be seen opposite Shahid
Kapoor in Shaandaar.
Mahesh Bhatt says he is proud of his
daughter Alia Bhatt, but he does not wish to
interfere in her private life. "I respect her right
as an individual, having a life of her own and
I have no business to step into it. Even now
when she is grown up, if I want to enter her
room, I've to knock the door three times. If
she is free then I open the door, else not," he
says and adds, "I am proud of my little girl
and I applaud her every time I see her doing
something sensational in the world of
performing arts. But her private life is private,
I'd never gatecrash into the lives of anybody,
not even my children."
When asked if he gets worried about Alia's
link-up rumours, the 67-year-old says, "I also
grew up in this world. I fell in love, had
relationships " some worked some didn't. I'm
her father, I'm a friend and I respect her. She's
in charge of her own destiny, she's in the
driving seat of her own journey and we must
respect that." Mahesh further adds, "Your
children may come through you, but they are
different. They have a world view of their own,
a destination of their own and I, as a parent,
can only facilitate that journey, if asked."http://m.hindustantimes.com/bollywood/i-have-to-knock-her-door-three-times-mahesh-bhatt-on-alia/story-akrSfQR5GdOk7y24eKhTRK.html
