Fake or no fake, this surrogacy track is sheer bull shit. Whatever twist or turn they bring the damage done to Raman (YHM also) is irreparable.
Raman has made several mistakes earlier. But this time it is so gross and unpardonable it is difficult to empathise with him.
Raman wants the third child for Ishita's sake [though she claims to be complete without one of her own blood]. He wants Ishita to experience motherhood: the feeling of a life, growing and moving in her womb, the sickness, the cravings, the pangs of labour, the joy of suckling her baby, etc., etc.
Besides, he wants to erase the stigma of "baanjh".
Can surrogacy satisfy his intentions???
NO, NEVER.
Raman's obsessive idea of surrogacy does not produce the desired results.
Surrogacy only impacts negatively. It fails to impart Ishita the pain and joy of motherhood. Worse than that, it underscores her infertility.
Subbu challenged Ishita's worth as a woman for her inability to be a breeding machine'. Raman's inconsiderate action only reaffirms her incapacity.
The idea of surrogacy itself is beyond comprehension.
Then Shagun!!!! How can Raman think of making his "ex" the surrogate mother of his and Ishita's baby!!!! Has Shagun spared a chance to call Ishita a "baanjh" and "aayah"??? Have we forgotten Shagun's glee and gloat when she slams on Ishita's barrenness???
How can Raman who recalls every minute detail of Shagun's pregnancy forget that her life itself was critical during Ruhi's confinement??? [How can the script writer forget when it had been elaborated and developed into several episodes???] Amnesia...!!!!
Raman is a flawed character. Love blinds him, makes him self-centred. He becomes obsessed with something or someone; his view becomes blinkered, and actions inexpedient and irrational. His idea of surrogacy is the height of it.
N.B. This transformed/reformed Shagun Arora is a freak in YHM. If she is too hard to dispense with, portray her in a grey shade. The role of Guardian Angel is revolting.
