SOMETHING SPICY
"Ammmaaa...!!!!"
Ishita shouted on top of her throat from inside her bedroom. Mihika closed the door when Raman lazily walked out as if conquering the entire world. Amma rushed inside only to see her daughter fuming in anger.
"He...that Raman Bhalla sneaked inside my bedroom just now. Catch him amma...!" She said walking up to the door to open it.
Seeing her state amma stopped her, "Enna Ishu...? How can he come here? I was in the kitchen...and there is Subbu and Mihika also. How can he sneak inside? It's all your hallucinations!"
"Illai amma...I saw him...he was playing game in my mobile. Here...see...in my bed...and...he...hmm..." She trailed off fearing that her amma would get mad if she tells her about Raman kissing her. Moreover, she thought she will sound mad.
"Ap ko kya hua akka?" Mihika came inside to handle the situation.
[What happened to you akka?]
"Weird things are happening Miku. See...inside the bathroom...there is a shaving set and all. I...felt my soap was used by someone else...! And...in my pink towel...there is small-small hair in it...that too some black and gray! And then...that Raman Bhalla laying on my bed! How's it all possible!!!" Ishita sat on the bed in confusion.
Mihika felt bad for her akka and tried to convince her with a lie. "You forgot akka...? Niraj was here. It's his things...He forgot to take it with him!"
"He...? He used my towel and soap???? Yuck!!!!" Ishita made a face and thrown away the towel. "But...how he got gray hair?" She shot back at Mihika.
"Be cool akka...It's just him. He has coloured his hair. Ajith Kumar style!" Mihika patted her shoulder and walked out with amma while Ishita asked her, "Is it some new movie...?"
"Yep..." Mihika shouted from behind the door.
"Why did you ignored those things amma? You're being careless! Akka will get to know everyting if we act like this...!" Mihika hissed at her amma only to hear her saying, "Lagta hai maine bahut kuch bhool diya!"
[I think I forgot many things]
Mihika's eyes popped out on amma's words and at the sametime there came another scream from Ishita.
"Ammaaa...!!!!"
They rushed into the room again asking her the problem and saw her standing in front of the wardrobe with a tie in her hand making a 'how disgusting' face. Mihika gripped amma's hand and glared at her. Shrugging Mihika's hand amma moved forward with the hope that she can manage the situation.
"Voh...haan...dry...dry clean...It might have got into your dresses! Haina Miku...?" Amma looked at Mihika.
[Right Miku?]
"Haan akka...these people nah...!" She snatched the tie from Ishita and smiled cheekily, "I'll give this to Ruhi's papa."
She very well knows how to coax her akka. The name of Ruhi turned off her anger. She smiled a little saying, "Hmm...yeah..." and went to select her dress.
Mihika sighed a relief and pulled amma from there only to see her standing staring at the wardrobe as if getting an electric shock. Mihika made a 'not again' face seeing which Ishita asked why they are still standing there.
"Don't tell me that you forgot to clean this room amma...!" Mihika gritted her teeth when amma stood numb.
"I did Miku...but...some thing is wrong. If all these are happening even after I...arranged it beforehand...I'm afraid...there is Raman's dresses in the wardrobe!" Amma said hearing that Mihika smacked her own head. Subbu and Subbu's amma looked on smirking expecting to see a heated argument between Raman and Ishita as they are the ones who placed Raman's things again in Ishita's room.
"Ammmaaa...!!!!"
There came another scream from Ishita making Mihika and amma shiver not knowing what to do now.
They entered the room only to see Ishita scrutinizing a perfume. Men's perfume to be quoted! Mihika walked to her and snatched it to keep it on the table.
"That's...Niraj's...hmm..." She smiled at her.
"Why didn't you people make him use the guest room? Did he slept in my room?" She questioned them not understanding what is going on there.
"Exactly...!" Mihika clicked her fingure and elbowed amma.
"Akka...you're the one who asked him to use your bedroom and you slept with me. How could you forget it? Now you're blaming us?" Mihika pouted making Ishita believe her sister's words.
She sat on the bed clutching her head. She literally dropped herself on the bed hence making Mihika and amma shout 'ayyooo...' in unison clutching Ishita's arms. Ishita stared at them not understanding anything.
"Kya hua amma...Miku...? Are you okay?" She wondered.
"Voh...you should not sit like this Ishu...You should be more careful in this time. Don't run or work hard. You should walk slowly...do everything slowly...Agar kuch ho jaata toh!!!" Amma made a horrified expression.
[What if something happens!]
"Yeh kya hai amma? Am I pregnant or what!!!" She exclaimed at her amma's advice making Mihika and amma look at each other open mouthed.
[What's this amma?]
They asked in shock, "Tumhe kaise pata?"
[How do you know?]
Ishita jumped up from the bed in shock and held her stomach. Her eyes glistened in tears as she got the shock of her life. "What you mean? Am I pregnant amma??? Kuch bolo...Kya chupa rahe ho mujhse?"
[What're you hiding from me?]
"No...no...no...akka...we...we're concerned.You should take rest. Amma mean it." Mihika patted her akka's shoulder to bring her out from the shock while Ishita tried to ease her breathing.
"You both are mad! I was so shocked amma. Don't play like this. I can understand your concern but...this is too much!" Ishita grizzled checking her mobile.
Amma and Mihika apologised for their overcaring and walked out only to hear another shriek from Ishita.
"Ammmaaa...!!!!"
They sighed in frustration peeping sideways at each other. Ishita looked at her mobile as if it is a monster. Her face worn different expressions in mere seconds. A permanent expression was not there as it continued to be changed from one to the other.
"He's such a jerk! See Miku...amma...how shameless is he. That Raman Bhalla! See his messages..he's flirting with me...! He's really doing it in open amma. See...you people never believes me nah...Now see he is 'sexting me!' Isn't it enough proof?" Ishita said showing the messages to Mihika while Mihika peaked at amma in embarrassment.
Amma somehow managed to sneak out not wanting to handle such 'sensitive matters'. Mihika was feeling uncomfortable when Ishita read those messages loudly thinking that it could prove that she is telling the truth and not some hallucinations.
"Akka bas...You check the sent box also!" She said finally with the hope that it would stop the problem.
"Kya Miku...tujhe pata hai nah...my sent box is inactive!" Ishita said making a face. "I want to take a new SIM card as flirts are behind me" She said throwing her phone on the bed.
"Sure akka..." Mihika assured her.
Ishita settled in the bed after the day's torture. She was trying her best to adapt in her own home. Everything felt different. What had changed? She could not put a fingure on it. It was a knock on the door that made her break the stupor and come to reality. She opened the door only to see the Raman Bhalla standing there with a drowsy Ruhi in his arms covered in a baby pink blanket.
She sure dislikes this man. But she cannot show blind eye on the fact that he is there in front of her for his daughter who loves her a lot. She knows that Ruhi treats her like her own mother. Without wasting a second she took her in her arms from Raman. He smiled softly and left the place and Mihika closed the door behind him.
"He's not that bad akka!" Mihika said in her puppy voice.
"He's selfish Miku..see...now he gave me Ruhi because he can't make her sleep. Meano man!" Ishita made a face and went to sleep with Ruhi. Mihika looked on in surprise on seeing how her akka takes a different meaning from everything concerning to Raman!
MORNING
"Raman puttar...chaay toh peele..." Mrs Bhalla tried to make him drink it as he denied to have breakfast.
[At least drink tea]
"Mummiji...I don't like this taste...oh...I'm hungry...but...I want Ishita." He said pacing in the living room.
"Kya matlab?" Toshi's eyes popped out.
[What you mean?]
"I mean...I want breakfast from Ishita." He sat dejectedly near his papa who chuckled at his son's state.
"This Ishita spoiled my son...!" Toshi mumbled walking out to the Iyer's.
Amma was cooking when Toshi entered there greeting good morning. Subbu was sitting there reading newspaper and Mr Iyer was drinking tea hearing some devotional music in his mobile.
"Arey...good morning Toshiji..." Mr Iyer said and resumed his music hearing session after getting the acknowledgement from Toshi.
"Madhavi...voh...Raman is not eating anything. Actually...he is not eating anything properly from the last week. He's not liking anything. Always says Ishita makes better paratha...better tea...Nkw he is adamant as Ishita puttar is alright and he is not being able to see her! Kya karun?" Toshi started crying.
Ishita came out of the room with Ruhi. Ruhi ran out to her papa while Ishita inquired the reason for Toshi's crying. Both the mothers felt trapped. They looked sideways at appa who was oblivious of everything as he had put on the earphone.
"Voh puttar...Raman nah...he wants to eat...madrasi food...haan...matlab ki...tea." Toshi managed to say.
"Itnisi baat hai aunty! I'll make tea for him. Aur kya...breakfast bhi banati hun!" Ishita smiled at Toshi who returned a smile thinking that Raman would be happy.
[It's just that! I'll make breakfast for him.]
"See Mr Bhalla...how I'm gonna make you run!" She muttered under her breath.
In fifteen minutes she made idli and sambar for Raman. And a special tea under Toshi's special request. She walked inside the Bhalla house with a tray of the food in her hand. Raman never expected such a scene in the morning. He was there open mouthed. She gritted her teeth cheekily smiling at him.
"Why Ishita?" The words came out unknowingly, earning a glare from her. "I mean...Ms Iyer..." He corrected.
"Apko madrasi khana khane ka bahut shauk the nah...So here it is. Maine khud banaya hai...sirf ap keliye."
[You want to eat madrasi food right? I made it myself]
He looked at her suspiciously and thanked. She served him the food and sat across the table as if to check if he is having it. "I must say Ms Iyer...this tea is tastey." He appreciated genuinely.
"Om uncle kahan hai?" She interrogated and heard him saying that he went out for a walk.
When he started having the breakfast his expressions started to change. Trying to tolerate the horrible taste of the food, finally, he gave up. He asked her not being able to take in anymore, "Ap log sambar mein karela daalte ho?"
[You use bitter-gourd in sambar?]
"What happened Mr Bhalla...? You don't like it?" She asked faking innocence.
"Madrasan is playing with you beta...now it's pay back time!" He grinned at her.
Meanwhile amma and Toshi sat chit chatting after serving food for Subbu and appa. When they were immersed in talking, their fun time broke by appa and Subbu's scream. They rushed to them only to see them looking at the breakfast as if it is a bomb which is about to blast.
"Kya hua Viswa?" Amma asked concerned.
[What happened?]
"Have you gone made Madhu. Does anyone put bitter-gourd in sambar!" He shouted at her.
Amma tasted the sambar and went to the bathroom to vomit. Toshi patted amma's back. After composing from the after effects of having the 'karela sambar' she looked at Toshi feeling tired. The only word came out of Toshi's mouth was a horrified, 'Raman!!!' hearing which appa and Subbu understood that it is Ishita's prank.
"Now see Mr Raman Bhalla...how your own wife tortures you!" Subbu smirked.
Back in the Bhalla's. Raman jerked back the chair and marched towards Ishita angrily wiping his hand with a tissue. Ishita got up scared watching his dangerous countenance. His eyes throwing daggers at her as he closed in towards her. She walked back until colliding with the
wall behind her.
"Sorry Mr Bhalla...I thought you'll take it lightly..." She said nervously when his face came so close to hers. His breath mingled in hers as he took in her freshness.
Her hands trying its best to push him away only to be tied back by his powerful arms. Her bosom coming up and going down caressing his chest softly drving him to lose his control. "Let me have some sweet Ms Iyer..." He said huskily and pecked her lips lightly as if to let her know what he meant.
She could not spare a second to talk to him defending herself as her lips were pursed up inside his. The passionate lip lock prolonged until he felt his mouth is fresh. He brilliantly washed off the bitterness from his mouth tasting her cherry lips and looked at Ishita who was leaning back to the wall clutching tightly around his waist. No little space was there between them.
"That was so bitter Mr Bhalla...I'm sorry..." She managed to say as she was out of breath.
"And you're so sweet Ms Iyer..." He said again pecking her lips only to get pushed off by Ishita who by then came in her senses.
