The last chapter was just so ARNAV. There really is no other way to describe it! Confident, yet insecure about how much progress they have made! They truly have solved so many of the issues that affected their relationship thus far, and I can't wait to read this next part to see how they solve their largest issue yet.

Speaking of which, it evening in NY! Updaaate?

I want to applaud your Khushi and want to hug her tightly. To garner courage to voice your feelings, when they have decades of pain pressing down on them, is very very difficult. Each word she uttered, be it to Arnav or Payal or her mother, dripped with the agony she's endured. And I hope this voicing of it is cathartic for her and allows her to shed the shackles of this negativity and move ahead with a lighter heart.

I really really liked the way you showed Khushi hold up a mirror to Arnav, showing him what their marriage had become and why she felt compelled to take such a drastic action in asking for a divorce. But what made it more powerful was that she held it up to herself as well. She was open and honest about where she herself had gone wrong. And this acknowledgement by both of them, of both their faults is what is needed before they can take genuine steps forward towards their home. I'm happy she told him what she had known about Alisha's intentions and about what Alisha herself had told her. But, knowing all that she still trusted him. And that is both a moving and humbling feeling for Arnav. Listening to Khushi tell him exactly what she had gone through while he buried his head in the sand, was deeply painful for him but necessary. Knowing your faults is different to hearing it said out loud. It's when things are voiced that you are forced to deal with them. I have every faith that they will move ahead in a positive way now.

I sincerely hope Payal takes heed of what her sister has said. She has the nurture of two innocent children in her hands. If only for their sake, as Khushi said, she at least begins to look into herself and takes stock of her life. Her dependancy on her parents may be because they allowed it to happen, no one is blameless in this mess. But, she is a grown woman now. You can't go through life blaming others for where you're at. You need to ask yourself what your own culpability is in contributing to your present. Avni and Harshad asking Payal to hear herself has been late in coming, but I hope it doesn't prove to be too late.

Amma ... the bewildered child Khushi calling for her mother who never came, just broke your heart. I read this line and cry every time. It is enveloped is such heartbreaking grief. "I played my role as your daughter". Such desperately sad words to have to say. A relationship reduced to an accessory to be brandished when needed. Avni needed to see the depth of despair her child is feeling. Harshad needed to understand the hurt his daughter felt and is feeling because of his own contribution to this parlous state of affairs. Apologising for his wife's errors when he should have been the one to point out to her where she was wrong. He is Khushi's father as well, not just Avni's husband.

Dadi ... I loved how you showed Khushi silently seek her permission before speaking out. Her respect for the lady who brought her up evident in that gesture. A woman to be proud of for Devyani. What an amazing, remarkable person she has raised.

And through it all, her Arnav, there for her. I hope the home they return to, is never again reduced to just an space with four walls. This unburdening lightens their hearts and allows for happiness to seep in.

I am awed by how finely you have balanced this chapter. Each home truth beautifully penned. Each character's response perfectly in keeping with their nature even while showing the subtle shift in them. Just amazing. Hugs, hugs and more hugs for the writing, for the time frame of the writing, for just you 🤗

I am very, very, very impressed by your writing in this chapter. No comment from me will completely describe the emotions you made me feel with this chapter, but I will try anyway because you deserve all the praise for this one.

I loved their confrontation. As terrible as it sounds, I've been waiting for this- they needed this so badly. They were able to avoid all of the issues between them until now. Even though they were able to confront their grief over their Pari, until now, they haven't completely dealt with what came between them as a couple. Not the outside influences that further catalyzed the issues between them, but the ones within themselves. They needed this to find them. As Arnav said- this isn't about Kabir, this isn't about her family, or his, or everything else that contributed to the difficulties between them. This was solely about Arnav and Khushi, and what pushed them apart- that he left her alone, that he felt like she wasn't fighting for them, the fact that they both neglected to fight for them when they desperately needed to. I loved how Khushi took responsibility for her own actions, and so did he. They were honest without being too hurtful. That is what I loved about this fight- neither of them shied away from the truth this time, no matter how harsh it was.

I am so proud of Khushi in this update. She put herself first, and I am so so happy that she did. Until you put yourself first, no one else will put you first. Until now, people have been telling her how she has made them feel. But today, she had the chance to tell everyone how they have been making her feel- I hope they take the time to think about what she's said, and understand her, the way she's been trying to do for everyone else. I'm so damn proud of her that I just want to wrap her in a hug- even as my heart broke for her when she said this line: "When I was younger, I used to chant Amma over and over again... in hope that you would hear me and come for me. The way you did for Jiji. But you never came..."

The beauty in your writing is not only that your characters are real, and that their reactions are consistent and a reflection of who they are- but also that your words convey the feeling they are said with without you telling us every time. We know what Arnav's voice sounds like in our heads, the way Khushi's voice breaks as she says Amma, the quiet anger that seethes from Arnav when he confronts Khushi- you don't need to explicitly tell us that for us to understand. You are a remarkable writer- and I am hella impressed that you wrote this. You have built up to this moment so well, and it made it all the more kickass.

Love always,
Your Choti.
