I'm going to start from the beginning of the leap…….

After Kkusum left Abhay after seeing the Mahi-Abhay fiasco she somehow managed to soar higher. (Aka…leaving her middle class jhanjat) Kumud is born and the mother and daughter live happily. (Ever after? Lets see)

Kumud-

Has her mother's upbringing and does not believe in marriage. (Hmm...very unlike mother)

Kumud comes home after her studies.

K1: Kkusum

K2: Kumud

K2: Maa, I'm back.

K1: Welcome back!

K2: ( She gives her a rose and a hug)

K1: Main bhi tumhare liye ek khushkabhri laai hoon.

K2: Oh really? Batao kya hai mera surprise.

K1: Maine tumhari shaadi pakki kar di hai.

K2: (Eyes go big and the mouth opens wide) Shaadi! Maa, aap yeh kaise kar sakti hai, aapko to patah hai na ki mujhe shaadi shabd se nafrat hai.

K1: Abh tumhari umar hogaye hai, aur phir agar tum yaha ghar baitho gi to bahar waale kya sochenge? Yahi ki main apne beti ki shaadi karna hi nahi chahti.

K2: Wo jo sochna chahte hai, soch sakte hai. Mujhe shaadi nahi karni.

K1: Akhir kyun? Tumhe jeevan mein ek saathi ki zaroorat hai.

K2: Jeevan saathi? Agar jeevan saathi ka matlab hai ki do kadam chalna aur do kadam par saath chodhna to main akele rehna chahti hoon.

K1: Kumud! Main kuch sunna nahi chahti hoon. Maine agar yeh kaha hai ki tumhari shaadi pakki ho gaye hai to ho gaye hai and that is final.

Kumud runs upstairs to her room. Kkusum is furious.

Kkusum calls the grooms' side and tell them that tomorrow they're coming with the tilak.

Jumping ahead to the next day, Kkusum and her "troupe" goes and does the necessary rituals. The groom is apna Garv.

His story……

He loved this girl named Kali but she loved this other dude named Nakul. So under depression, his mother sought the opportunity and made him agree to this marriage. (Kya yahi mamta hai?....lolz)

After everything is done and everyone is gone, Garv asks him mother if he can at least meet the person he is marrying. His mom calls Kkusum and both the mothers fix the date for the "date".

K1: Kumud tumhe patah hai ki aaj tumhe Garv se milne jaana hai?

K2: Garv? Koun Garv?

K1: Tumhara hone wala pati, aur mera hone wala damaad.

K2: Is mein khush hone waali kya baat hai? Shaadi to mujhe karni hai par sabh cheez to aap kar rahi hai.

K1: Kumud! Tum phir se….(Pauses) Garv tumhe saath baje Z Lounge mein boolaya hai. Main tumhe waha drop kardoongi.

K2: (Leaves)

At 7 o' clock, Kumud reaches the venue. The waiter escorts her to "their" reserved table. Garv is already sitting at the table.

G: Garv

K2: Hmm…main…woh…main Kumud hoon.

G: Aur main Garv. Please have a seat.

She sits down.

G: Tum kuch lo gi?

K2: No, thanks.

G: Kitni ajeeb hai yeh mulaqaat. Hum dono ki shaadi pakki ho gaye hai aur hum ek doosre ko jante bhi nahi.

K2: Main ek sawal puchu?

G: Yes?

K2: Tumne yeh shaadi ke liye haan kyun ki?

G: Kyun ki maa yeh chahti thi. Main to kisi aur ko chahta tha, par wo kisi aur ko pasand karti thi.

K2: Matlab ki tumhare liye yeh shaadi yeh majboori hai, right? To tum yeh shaadi se inkaar kar sakte ho.

G: Kar sakta hoon par karoonga nahi. Maa ne mujhe kasam di hai.

K2: (Saddens) Oh!

G: Kyun? Kya tumhe is shaadi se aitraaz hai?

K2: Chalo kuch khaane ke liye order karte hai mujhe achanak bhook lag gaye hai.

After eating a little bit of nothing Kumud decides to go home and the "date" ends.

The next day they have the haldi and the sangeet and the wedding!!!!

Last week:

The haldi, sangeet, and the marriage were followed in the same week!

Kumud is being led into her "room" by her "friends". (Since I don't know what they're called…I'm going to describe them to you. You know in Hindi movies, whenever there is a wedding that is held in a 2 story hall, with stairs going down/up on both sides……well there are girls that are giggling like all the time. The "friends" are like that.)

The friends open the door and push her inside. Garv, who was previously looking outside the window (I don't know if he was looking at the moon or looking for a shooting star. You can assume either one of them.)turns around.

G: (Looks at Kumud questioningly)

K2: Hmm….wo….kamre ne saheliya…mera matlab hai…andar ne kamre ko…hmm….wo log to mera baat sunte hi nahi hai(She is embarrased)

G: It's ok.

K2: Huh? (She looks at the decorated bed!)

G: (His eyes follow hers! Realizing what she's thinking…) Tum yaha is bed par so jao aur main waha sofe par. Tikh hai.

K2: Par tum waha…

G: (He gets his pillow and eventually lies down.)

K2: (She takes her jewelry off and goes to sleep thinking…) Maa ke kehne par maine to yeh shaadi kar li par abh isko kaise nibhaon? Kya maine socha tha aur yeh kya hogaya. Shaadi nahi karna chaha tha par shaadi hogaye abh aage chal kar aur kya kya hoga? Aur Garv? Main to usse janti bhi nahi, patah nahi wo kya sochta hoga. Uski baaton se to mujhe aisa lagta hai ki uske liye yeh shaadi ek muafza hai. Haaye Kumud, kya hoga re tera?

The next morning at 8:30...Kumud's saas (let's call her Malini) knocks on the door.

M: Malini

M: Garv beta? Kumud? Darwaza kholo.

K2: (She is still in bed…hears the knock and gets up…looks at the clock…looks at the sofa….no Garv there)

Garv comes out of the bathroom all ready to start the day.

M: Garv darwaza kholo.

G: Maa ek minute main abhi kholta hoon.

K2: Arre wait? (Nearly bumping into him) Tumne mujhe pehle kyun nahi uthaya?

G: Maa abhi aya.

K2: (Rushes into the bathroom)

Garv opens the door.

M: Beta main itni der se knock kar rahi thi, tum kaha the aur phir Kumud kaha hai?

G: Hm….maa…wo bathroom mein hai.

M: Tikh hai jab wo ajayegi to tum usse bata dena ki muh dikhai ke liye taiyaar hojaye.

G: Ok mom

Malini leaves and Kumud comes out…goes staright to the airmore/closet and takes her clothes out hastily.

K2: (Talking to Garv) Agar tum mujhse pehle jag gaye the to phir mujhe uthaya kyun nahi. Shaadi ke pehle hi din main saadhe aath baje tak soi. Agar maa ko yeh pata chal gaya ki uske batane ke bavajood maine yeh kar diya to mera to ram naam satye hojaye ga. (She realizes that she has spoken a lot without realizing)

G: (He is amazed)

K2: (She walks away to the bathroom again when…)

G: Rukko!

K2: Abh kya hai? Main abh bathroom bhi nahi jaa sakti?

G: (Walks up to her) Tumhe mardo ki shirt pehna pasand hai?

K2: Huh?

G: (He takes out his shirt from her pile of clothes and walks away!)

K2: (She's embarrassed again!)

A while later…

Malini comes again and looks for Kumud. (She is getting ready)

M: Kumud jaldi se taiyaar ho jao, abhi muh-dikhai ke liye jaana hai.

K2: Main taiyaar hoon.

They go downstairs and the muh-dikhai proceeds. Everyone says the usual "Arre Malini, aap ke bahu to bahut sundar hai" blah blah blah

After that Malini goes to GK's room. (GK is the name of Garv and Kumud's bedroom)

M: Beta Garv. Tum kyun nahi neeche aaye? Sabh log pooch rahe the. Acha ek baat batao, tumne Kumud ko koi tohfa diya hai ki nahi?

G: Tohfa? Kaisa tohfa?

M: Abh yeh bhi main tumhe bataon? Acha koi baat nahi maine bahu ke liye ek jewelry set laai hoon. Tum usse de dena, tikh hai.

G: Ok maa.

Malini leaves.

Kumud comes a while later and sees Garv still reading the magazine.

K2: (Wants to say something but doesn't)

G: (He notices her) Maa ne tumhare liye yeh zewar banwai hai. (He gets up, walks over to a table, picks the case up, and reaches Kumud. He throws the set like he doesn't care and walks away)

K2: (Thinks) Iski problem kya hai?

At the dinner table…

M: Bahu…

K2: Kya huwa mummy ji? Aapko kuch chahiye?

M: Nahi. Hum tum dono ko kuch dena chahte hai.

K2: (Stops her spoon mid-way and looks at Garv) Par…

M: Tumhe pehle vaada karna hoga ki tum yeh gift inkaar nahi karogi.

K2: (Confused) Tikh hai.

M: Good. Abh tum dono ko Paris jaana hoga.

K2: Mummy ji main to yahi tikh hoon, aur phir maa yaha…

M: Waha par tum log apne honeymoon manane jaoge.

G: (This time he stops his spoon) Mom, yaha par bahut kaam hai.

M: Main kuch sunna nahi chahti. Maine kal ki flight confirm kar di. Tum dono kal hi Paris jaoge.

Malini leaves the table.

G: (He looks at Kumud and she looks at him) (Yo…this isn't the lovey-dovey looking….it's the serious looking…the one which says "Oh no, please don't make me do this" and "Oh God yeh kya ho gaya")

Afterwards Garv leaves the table. Kumud also leaves. (In other words they leave for the GK room)

Kumud enters the room and sees Garv sitting down thinking.
She walks up to him and Garv notices her and starts to leave.

K2: Garv…

G: (he turns around) Kya? Tum kuch kehna chahti ho.

K2: Agar tum chaho to main yeh trip cancel kar sakti hoon.

Malini is walking past the GK room and hears part of their conversation.

G: Kumud, agar—

Malini chips in.

M: Kya huwa? Tum log kahi trip cancel karne ki baat to nahi kar rahe ho? Kyunki aisa hargiz nahi ho sakta. Kumud tum apna vaada todh do gi kya? Aur Garv kya yeh business meri khushi se zayda kimti hai.

G: Maa aap achi tarah se janti hai ki yeh sach nahi hai. Tikh hai agar tum itna hi kahe rahi ho to hum Paris zaroor jayenge.

M: Thank You beta. Kumud, tum apne aur Garv ki packing kar lena, tikh hai. (Garv and Malini both leave)

K2: (Confused) Ok, mummy ji.

Kumud walks up to the closet/armoire and opens it.
She looks at her side and then Garv's. She starts packing. She first packs her clothes and starts with Garv's. She folds the shirts…

K2: (Talking aloud) Itne badi shirt, he baghwaan. Waise color achi hai. Dekhne mein bhi acha lagta hai. Agar main isse pehnungi to kaise lagoongi?

She wears the shirt over her salwar kameez and…

K2: (Imitating Garv's voice) Please have a seat. (Sympathetically) Kitni ajeeb hai yeh mulaqaat. Hum dono ki shaadi pakki ho gaye hai aur hum ek doosre ko jante bhi nahi. (Hearing imaginary applauses) Thank You, Thank You.

Garv who is standing right there watches everything!
