Q. Can a Prem Ratan Dhan Payo or Dilwale do a 45 crore opening day?
Ans. Its not possible yet, only five films have gone over 30 crore nett, so 45 crore nett is far away. Even a 40 crore nett opening is a big ask. Ek Tha Tiger grossed 30 crore nett, three years back and it seems a long time ago but the growth in screens has been very slow since then therefore intial business has not grown like it did between 2009 and 2012.

Q. Welcome Back has done tremendous business and is this a sign that a family entertainer like Singh is Bling may open bigger and become Akshay's biggest grosser?
Ans. A family entertainer is always the best bet thats why all the biggest grossers are family entertainers though in the industry for some reason it us seen that a film for the youth is the best bet. Singh Is Bling is looking at a huge opening in the North and just on that it should be Akshay's biggest grosser in that belt. But to be overall biggest grosser it will actually have to be a family entertainer and not just a family entertainer in name.

Q. When compared to average foot falls for two states Andhra / Nizam for a big Telugu movie, foot falls for a biggest Hindi movies in Hindi speaking states is very less. Is it because not enough movies are made in Hindi that get connected to those people? When two states Andhra/Nizam can get you 80-100cr net for a big Telugu movie, Why is that Hindi states UP, MP, Bihar, Chatthisgarh, Jharkand, Haryana don't yield same range revenue for a Hindi movie?
Ans. Higher taxes, Andhra has better kept single screens and a theatre going culture much stronger than the states you mentioned. Also makers are making big budget films for one state in Telugu. If you had a good cinema infrastructure like in Andhra for UP or Bihar and made a big budget film catering specifically to that audience, footfalls will go through the roof but that won't happen anytime soon and maybe never. If it does it will change Hindi cinema totally.

Q. Was MSG a hit or flop? What were the lifetime collections?
Ans. It fared poorly. The collections can be seen here;. Also most of these collections are the minimum guarantees given to multiplexes to play the film.
