Bangles.
She glanced at the lovely red bangles that were hanging from the rustic, old shop.
They were glossy, shiny and simply beautiful. The work on them was exquisite though simply but just like she favoured. The small sequences were arranged at the corner while there was a little hint of golden in the red vine bangles.
She came out from her trance when Viplav snapped his long fingers in front of her eyes.
"Oh Queen, where are you lost ? Hurry up, we have to reach the court on time, I have to fight your case no ?" he said frustrated as he walked ahead.
Stealing one last glance at those bangles she followed him.
Had she not been a widow, she would have wore those bangles, she would have walked wearing colourful sarees, left her long hair open not cascaded by her pallu, she would have dressed and got ready everyday, she would have been respected by people and not considered a sin.
"We have to come tomorrow now." his quiet voice said.
"Oh hello ?" he snapped his fingers and noticed as a small tear escaped her lovely eyes as she quickly wiped it. his glance softened and was rather more concerned.
"Are you okay ?" she nodded and left while he kept looking at the direction in which the white trance disappeared.
The ride back to the ashram was a quiet one, even Viplav was feeling weird at her silence, the queen was not uttering a word, just sitting quietly and staring outside. It made him feel bad, an urge to comfort her drew upon him but his ego didn't let him go for it.
"This is for you." she looked at him confused as he handled her a small gift.
"What's this ? is it chocolate ?" For a moment she smiled excitingly before she controlled her expression making it serious again.
"No, open." He smiled as he saw her opening the gift.
Her eyes widened in shock as she saw the same bangles, admiring them and smiling drifting to her dreamland when suddenly she came to the reality and looked at him shocked.
"Don't look at me like that, I saw you looking at them and so I.." He looked away, he didn't himself know why he had brought the bangles when he had seen her admiring their beauty.
"I can't accept this." she said as she returned him the package.
"Oh hello, i brought this and now you have to take it. No one refuses my gift, you get it ? take it and wear it."
Not wanting to argue further, she got down from the car and saw him leaving while a beautiful smile crept on her rosy lips.
