Many might or might not agree Ranaji is perhaps not the strongest character in the show? He is obsessed with jewelry. It's been seven years and he still thinks of his ex-wife 24-7. He inflicts self-harm on himself. Instead of caring about his Kingdom he sits around engaging in self-pity. The only time we really saw him care was when he went to help the villager who was suffering do to too much taxation. Other than that we have not witnessed him taking him up any King like responsibilities. He is too busy shouting, screaming and crying all the time.

How many of you think that he will make Gayatri his punching bag after marriage? You know like most brooding male of Indian TV. Who give the status of punching bags to women? I mean I once greatly admired this character. But he lost his chivalry and gentlemen type characteristics when he manhandled Gayatri at the engagement. As of now he sees her somewhat responsible for her condition. I mean it is totally unfair because he himself knows that it is thanks to her father and this marriage that his Kingdom and throne got saved. He himself married her for money so he is also as much of an opportunist as he considers her to be.

I am just hoping this does not turn into a typical love hate drama where his job is to push her around, treat her terribly and disrespect her while she takes this with a smile because that is what is expected of a girl who is in love. And does her best to heal him (as lick someone who treats her like crap). Desi Soaps really need to get over this regressive concept. Look how far Hindi films have come where films like Queen do well. Queens encouraged girls to leave someone who treats you badly once. Desi Soaps encourage girls to stay with the man who treats you terribly multiple times. Love to hear everyone's opinion on this topic.

I don't think Ranaji will be abusive. He's a gentleman and cvs won't ruin this trait of him unless they think that's what trps audience want or make him abusive for a sake of track (s). We shouldn't judge his characer over just once scene and ignore how he has always been or shown in the show. Like just judging him on that one scene where he holds Gayatri's hand harshly because he thought she played him and was too sad over his past wife. He wasn't intentionally and consciously being mean. He was way too shocked, sad, and lost at that scene to realize what he was even doing. We shouldn't forget where he's coming from even if it annoys us to see him lost over his ex-wife. We may be annoyed and all, but let's see it from the character's perspective since they act where they are coming from.

Anyway, I agree with many that Sid's character has been the weakest in the show and from the beginning. It's strange since he's the male lead and Cvs should work hard on the main leads' character. His character is poorly written and at times inconsistent and illogical which is the main reason why audience lack sympathy for him or don't feel connected to the character and see his POV, and also the reason why Sid's acting isn't looking good when the character is so weak as he's a good actors seeing his past shows. It's unfair to Sid when his character is like that. I hope the Cvs work on his character after all he's the male lead. How can they do this even though it's unintentional from their point as they would abviously want their main lead's to be a strong character? May be we can tweet them over this? It's not just because he's lost in his ex-wife that audience don't feel anything for him or find his annoying. If his character was well written, audience would've liked his regardless of his flaws just like we still like Gayatri despite disliking how she becomes so delusional and dum when it's comes to Rana. So it's the character which is weakly written. Hope the CVS improve Rana's character.

This is a zee tv serial, and that's exactly what will happen in this serial.

Another example was Jodha Akbar where Jodha was the know-all, do-good-only, think-all paragon of (Hindu) female genius that supposedly tutored and nagged Akbar into becoming the great Akbar of history 😭but in that serial was the stupid, trouble-prone, cruel (Muslim) ruler.

I dont believe I called him abusive in my post. My question was will he at least respect her??? The gentlemen mannerisms kind of resurfaced during the Maha episode but disappeared later.

You made some excellent points Madz. We def cant judge someone based off of one instance but he could have seriously hurt her their even if he didnt know what he is doing. He is a man at the end of the day and he has three times the strength of a women.

I am not sure if I necessarily even want Ranaji's character to be the center point of the CVs focus. I just want him to be more rational and coherent in his thinking. And def make an effort to be more respectful like he did i the Maha episode. I wouldnt tweet the CVs. Let them tell the story they have planned.
