Katrina Kaif is one of the most sought after Bollywood actress. And yes, the babe has come a long way and survived the ups and downs in an industry that is known for cut-throat competition. One of the few heroines to be considered on par with Khans and a bankable star, Katrina is glamorous and super hot. Now I'm no fan of Katrina's acting. In fact, acting isn't one of her strong points, but she is definitely one of the most commercially successful actors today with a huge fan following. And no that is no cake walk to come into the industry and walk amidst stars and make it to the top. She is not a Tabu, but she definitely is giving her competition some tough time. It does need a sharp mind, lot of hard work and yes, some good luck too. Katrina is a combination of all that and more. Here are five reasons Katrina Kaif does not deserve a National Award...
#The Khan power: She's amongst very few heroines like Rani Mukerji, Kajol and Kareena Kapoor who have been fortunate enough to work with the ruling Khans of B-town - Salman, Aamir and Shah Rukh Khan. Now whoever thought that this is not an achievement go ask Kangana Ranaut and Deepika Padukone who have been itching to tick mark that feat in their check list. That's not all the actress was once considered as JKhiladi, Akshay Kumar's lucky charm and the duo have doled out quite a few hit films together.
#The BO game: Well, films are not just a piece of art but have a lot of commercials attached to them. The actress has quite a few Rs 100 crore films to her credit. Those who know her closely vouch for the fact that Kat knows her numbers too well. So discuss box office collections and Ms Kaif might just pleasantly surprise you with her knowledge of figures.
#The Hero: Katrina Kaif has delivered hits without having superstars to piggyback upon. The actress recently featured in Phantom a film that revived Saif Ali Khan's career graph that was on a downhill. And yes, the film did well despite the critics slamming the leads. We certainly think it was the KK magic. And this isn't the only time the lady has managed to make her producers happy. When Kat did YRF's Mere Brother Ki Dulhan alongside Imran Khan the film was touted as a Katrina film and it delivered the promise.
#Item fever: In an industry where heroines often shy away from item songs, Katrina made it fashionable for actresses to do special songs in other heroines projects. Sometime these item numbers stole the show from the actual heroine of the show. And in Kat's case it has been several times, be it Shiela Ki Jawani or then Chikni Chameli or then her special song for Salman's Bodyguard. So Katrina might fall short in one department, but as far as sex appeal and hard work is concerned the actress scores high.
#Forever diva... The babe has romanced heroes double her age and looked good opposite them. Pair Katrina with her junior heroes and she still looks stunning with them. Age certainly is no bar for Kat, who'd look good opposite a Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan or even Aditya Roy Kapoor, no wonder she is always considered for projects with younger heroes.
Lastly, she might not be a heroine known for her acting prowess, but yes she is the one who strived and survived the industry for over a decade and embarked upon a journey that started from Boom and went on till Dhoom. So, Bollywood has never been known for giving actresses' it is known for producing good looking stars. There are some who get lucky, are blessed with not just both talent and looks but also a movie that gets them the National honour, but there are many who are brilliant actors who fail to find projects and just dissolve into the oblivion. As for National Award, you never know Kat might win one too. And yes, nobody can stop one from dreaming BIG and if Katrina has dreamt of this coveted award is it really wrong
