Meet poet Mazher Sayed!

The nephew of legendary lyricist Late Hasrat Jaipuri, Mazher says: "Shayari is in my blood. I met Hasratji for a very short span of time. He was quite old then and I was studying in college. He was a gem of a person."

The actor cum poet, who does not even remember when he started writing, adds, "I generally prefer writing at home. I like to write about emotions and special moments of life."

Ironically, he is not an avid poetry reader. "I do read old lyricist's sher but I am more interested in philosophical books. My favourite writer is Richard Bach and favourite book Jonathan Livingstone. It is a master piece, which inspired me a lot," he reveals.

Mazher says he would love to get his work published someday. "So far I have written only 40 poems but I am writing more so when I have enough, I will definitely think about publishing it."

Does he read or write on sets? "No, there my whole time goes in doing masti and playing pranks but sometimes I do sit with my close friend at home and read out my poems to them."

Mazher is currently doing Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii and Saat Phere.
