Even I thought the same yesterday when some one was giving the Lawyer the Money. May be just a wild guess., cannt say.

But Damini can't stand to see Urmi's happiness or accomplishment. Diya's winning is tied to that.

Also if you recall, Damini paid some goons to set fire to Urmi's dressing room before Urmi-Ishan's wedding, intending to kill her. It's not beyond her to stoop so low.

I don't think it's Damini either. What possible reason could she possibly have in protecting rapists? In fact, she's the most eager out of all of them to have this case closed so that Diya can leave their house already. Protecting the rapists, is only going to prolong the inevitable.
