If sources are to be believed, Neena Gupta is seeing a Delhi-based chartered accountant, Vivek Mehra for over a year now. The chemistry was apparent at the recently concluded Gold Awards in Mauritius, where the duo put up together at a hotel suite. Throughout the event, they stuck to each other, and avoided too much of socialising with the rest of the telly bunch. An eyewitness recounts, "Right from the Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport to the hotel, Vivek was lugging their suitcases. They are a couple."

For this couple too, friendship paved the way for romance. Apparently, Neena has known Vivek for many years. The duo took an instant liking for each other after they met at a social event a few years ago. Whenever Neena is in the capital, she stays at Vivek's place. Close friends of the couple inform that Neena is extremely fond of Vivek and it was her idea to take Vivek along for the awards gala in Mauritius. A reliable source says, "Neena and Vivek have been seeing each other for a while now. Even Neena's colleagues from Saat Phere are aware of it."

A cast member from Saat Phere, on condition of anonymity says, "It is common knowledge that she is seeing Vivek but they are discreet about it."

When quizzed about it, Neena was reluctant to admit her liaison and diplomatically said, "We are just good friends. He just accompanied me to Mauritius."
