Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will share screen space for the first time in film-maker Vikas Bahl's next. Even before the movie hits the theatres, the duo has already finished work on another project, which is directed by Abhishek Chaubey. Apparently, Shahid has revealed that he was instrumental in getting Alia on board for Abhishek's film.
"We were trying to make the movie for a year. No one (female actor) wanted to do it because it's a dark film. And then, I told Alia that I thought there was a role that " as per my understanding " was one of the finest roles I have come across for a female actor. Within two days, she read the script and called me. She was crying because she was really moved by the script. She told me that she wanted to do the film," Shahid said, at a film event on August 11.
Calling Alia "very brave", Shahid added, "There are very few female actors who like to step out of their skin (comfort zone), and don't worry about looking good."
Shahid also feels that Alia has been playing strong roles. "She has been making some great choices," he added.
Thanking Shahid, Alia said, "Shahid has made both the films happen for me. He is like an angel."
Alia, who was last seen in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), insists that she "would like to do as many different kinds of roles" as possible, as "variety is the spice of life." At the same event, she added, "I have been fortunate to get the opportunity to choose different [kinds of roles], and get such a vast range of characters and roles to play."
