IKRS. friday 14TH August..5th episode My take
The start of episode shows a not such an idiot after all Viplav ! it's if you can't beat them join them! The tape is evidence enough, but he wants one up man ship! and voila! he's got it all in hand and under his terms too! and off he swans into the thana! In the midst of disarray of banging up Dhani what an opportune moment for the wily rakshas! to announce his confession in the most dramatic of declarations, let her go ! I am the culprit! along with his I have come to give myself up! Viplav also manages to show Dhani the clout he has in the area, even the law fusses around him! but Dhani can see through his arrogance! and thus digs her heels in! Now this is what the young god Viplav hadn't expected. He wants things done on his terms .He expects her to show gratitude to him for bailing her out of being locked up. But much to his dismay he gets an earful from Dhani for landing her in the situation in the first place! now one may say.. the fact that he turns up at the police station to redeem her.. may be signs of realization of his foolish ways? but not as he concludes , that Dhani instead of appreciating his good deed , tells him a few home truths about his delinquent "joke" as he referred to the serious incident before all. Boldly Dhani wanted him to realize and see the consequences of that so called jest of his! what was more Dhani it seemed ,would see to it that it is him that should be brought to task! and this was not the end of the incident!
Viplav was used to having his own way. Expected the police to drop the charge and release Dhani on his command. He expected Dhani to accept that it was a harmless joke and that she shouldn't blow it out of proportion! and to instead show gratitude to him! because this was his expectation!
Also there were no signs of remorse from him when he was chastised by his grandmother for the incident. In fact she was the one who forced him to do the virtuous act of apologising to the aggrieved Dhani.. he couldn't differentiate the difference between a joke where people laugh with others and ridicule when people laugh at others..
Some aggression and sadistic tendencies too came out in this episode.. one when his baby sister makes pigs tails out of his hair ,he goes ballistic and use words to the effect of smashing her head ! this was obviously to illustrate the fine line between being funny and degrading people! the other instance of aggressive behaviour was when he in sane mind sketches Dhani's portrait ,pins it up his dart board and throws darts at it with a psychotic look.. I am going to get you!
Then come the lighter streaks of his nature , where he flippantly offers messages of apologies to Dhani.. via the gods , and some of his creations that are within his visual range.. and the blessed cow! It's childish attempts, at executing a hard task of admitting fault of a harmless act that actually smarts the dignity of a person.. Viplav will learn the message of all faiths and inspired scriptures.. that what pleases the omnipotent most, is not devout worship but more so the respect and tolerance we have for one another as human beings! In Viplav's life it can be felt now at this stage of the programme, that there are two people who will keep Viplav in line; show him the depth of the true meaning of worship.. love, compassion, mercy and peace..
Worship and devotion that is not weighed by the amount and value of the offerings given in the temples.. as is in the case of senior Tripathi who thrives on the faith offerings of the hard off devotees..
Good episode.. both leads were great,,chalk and cheese in attitudes to life.. winning formula of the plot is to lessen the gap between these two contrary people...
