Okay! So as I watched the episode and realized the CVs used to the tried-and-tested horrible "just missed each other" formula so that Mantu and Amaya do not meet and Mantu does not get to know that Amaya tried her best to come to the pooja, I decided I won't waste my time reviewing this episode. It simply wasn't worth my time and effort if the CVs are going to play with our emotions so. I swear I was just going to post how angry I was that the CVs were turning this Ito a typical Ekta Maiyya-ish show where the leads stay apart for the most inane of reasons and be done with it. The only reason I'm writing this review though is because of the precap. And I will get to that.
I skipped through Uma's scenes because it's practically unbearable to see her on screen without wanting to strangle her, skin her alive, roast her, throw her off a cliff and drown her to death before feeding her to the vultures! *phew* I really need to get that out of my system! I don't think I've ever felt such powerful hatred and homicidal ideation towards a fictional character ever. Normally, I'm pretty good at looking things from a story perspective and realize that villains are necessary to move the story forward. And I am sure the same tactics and dialogues that Uma uses have been used by almost all the third wheels in the love stories of Indian TV.. But somehow, this just makes me so freakish mad. Maybe because the show started off with such promise of being different but is now doling out the same crap that's being shown in any other show.
Anyways, Amaya gets into the accident and I am more or less sure the other party and even the police involved were hired by Uma's chamcha. If the person agrees to pay you in full for the damage, you don't snatch their purse and phone away. And what kind of cop says, you can't get your purse and phone back unless you come to the police station. With all due respect, since when does the police agree that the other party confiscating your purse and phone is a reasonable way to go about solving an accident (a rather minor one at that)? Is that the law of the land now? I haven't lived in India for quite some time now so anyone want to enlighten me on that?
Anyways, Amaya, who has turned into a full fledged soap queen, asks the police to keep her belongings and flees the scene and of course the police just watch her run away. And she runs to the temple by foot. Wouldn't it have made sense for her to get a rickshaw. Once she got to the pooja she could ask the rickshaw to wait and then have Uma pay the fare for her 😉. Her promise was to not let Mantu know of her love. She could surely tell him she got into an accident on her way to the temple and got delayed. Saying that in no way let's him know she loves him. And this is where I've lost my love for Amaya's character. She was supposed to be sensible. Spoilt, yet sensible and smart. Banaras ke hawa paani mein aisa kya hai ki she seems to have lost her brains completely? So instead of doing the sane, sensible thing, Amaya demonstrates her marathon running skills only to reach the temple as Mantu is leaving.
And I lost my love for Mantu a little too today. He was mopping around. He sensed Amaya's presence, he heard her calling out to him as he left in the auto and yet he let Uma manipulate him. Never once did he ask Uma to just shut up and let him be. He didn't question her when she kept asking the auto driver to drive faster and faster. Why was she in such a hurry to get them out of there? I know Mantu was upset but why couldn't he have yelled at Uma just once? On behalf of all us viewers who have much more violent things in mind as to what we want to do to her? Even Chiklu was looking at Uma weirdly as if wondering what has possessed her and why she was being such a raving maniac. But Mantu doesn't see it. He simple doesn't!
GC turns up to chaperone the girls. Chides Rachita for letting Amaya go to the temple. And then goes to pick her up. Of course Rudra manages to bribe a Pandit and have him create a scene about Amaya not serving the food properly. GC throws in his taunts too and just for a second, I felt bad for Amaya.
But then, she goes home, clutches onto that dress she wore the night of the reception and Mantu's dad's watch and cries buckets about how she is bound by her promise and can't even tell him she came to the pooja and I lost all sympathy for her.
On the other hand, Uma spews more venom into Mantu and Mantu, who seems to have been possessed by the soul of a desi soap queen, cries some more and mops around. Till anger gets the better of him and he texts something to Amaya.
Now for the precap - I guess Mantu asks Amaya to return his dad's watch and maybe the dress too since he means nothing to her now and Amaya goes to his house at night to return the stuff. Now, if they don't have a proper conversation and confrontation tomorrow, I swear I'm going to be so done with this show! If Amaya walks away without saying anything, I want Mantu to grab her and pin her against the wall and tell her he won't let her go till she tells him the truth. If Amaya walks away still, I will have zero feelings left for Amaya's character and I wouldn't be surprised if Mantu does too. And if Amaya walks away and Mantu let's her go without saying or doing anything, I'll be done with Mantu's character too. Then I will give up on the show, and just read written updates for the sake of the times when I'd actually loved it till I can't even do that anymore. That'll be it. So CVs, Mantu, Amaya - please please please end the torture and have the story move forward tomorrow. Since Indian soaps are all about glorifying the female lead and her sacrifices, I don't have a lot of hope that Amaya will cave in. I do hope though that as we have seen before with Mantu sneaking into her room at night and almost confessing at the pooja, that Mantu is so desperately and hopelessly in love, he might cave in and break his promise to Uma and confess to Amaya that he loves her. I don't mind it even if he does it in a fit of rage and and says but now it's all over coz I know I have no value in your life or whatever so Amaya can let go of her silly promise and woo Mantu back!
The only way I see Amaya caving is if she feels she has lost the bet to Uma and she thinks what's the point to this anyways and tells him the whole truth. Whichever way it happens, I want the truth to come out tomorrow. If not, like I said, it'll be adios amigos from me at least for a while till the story gets lovig forward.
