Chapter 53A Shrills filled the house startling the couple fast asleep in each other's arms. Wake up and sitting up in their bed with a start, they looked at each other's as they remembered last night. They rushed to Ruhi's crib to find it empty. He remembered he had left Ruhi with Mihika and assuming she would have come by to bring her back, he had left her under Mihika's are without tension. Now Ishita also guessed what had happened, Mihika had never brought Ruhi back. Buttoning up his shirt, Raman ran after Ishita who was out the door worried about her daughter.
They came out to the living room to find Mihika trying to shush a wailing Ruhi who was trying to jump out her arms and pushing away Mihika's hands.
"How could we be so careless?" they both thought to themselves looking at Ruhi's tears and red face as they rushed to grab her from Mihika's arms. Raman took her into his arms while Ishita continuously rubbed her back assuring her she was there.
"Ru, beta Papa and Mumma are here." They repeated to her over and over, but Ruhi was terrified upon finding herself in Mihika's arms instead of her parents. She held onto Ishita's finger while her other hand clutched onto Raman's shirt. He asked Ishita to hold onto her while he would get some water in her bottle. Mihika offered to get the water since she had ended up troubling everyone in an attempt to give them their time alone and take care of Ruhi.
As Ruhi lay in his lap, Ishita tried to soothe her by patting her as Raman rocked her. She sipped some water her mother forwarded as her dad patted her head, both looking tensed as their daughter wouldn't stop crying all because of their negligence towards her. They both looked at each other feeling so guilty for Ruhi's state. But they stopped thinking about their mistakes and turned back to Ruhi who needed the more.
Finally a few minutes of continuous efforts to calm her down, Ruhi had become quiet and the house calmed down in relief. Raman tickled her and got a smile for her back making her parents finally smile and look relived as she was okay. They both apologized for not being with her in a childish tone while she giggled at her parents. As Mihika apologized to them, Ishita started to scold her for not bringing Ruhi to them right away while Raman calmed her down as Mihika was close to tears. He kept Ruhi near himself while asking everyone to go get ready for their day. Ishita opened her arms to take Ruhi as she told him to get ready and talk to Bala and Vandita before they left for work. He hesitantly agreed and handed Ruhi over to her to not before stroking Ruhi's head and pecking the foreheads of both mother and daughter leaving them both overfilled with joy...

A knock on the front door stopped the morning craziness and brought it to standstill. Everyone yelled at each other to open the door and when no one would budge, she put down her cup of coffee and opened the door to yell at this newspaper guy, but was shocked as she opened the door...
"Raman!" Vandita exclaimed getting Bala's attention as well.
"Hi...umm...can...we talk? If you have time."
She immediately welcomed him into the house and Bala asked him to sit on the couch while Vandita rushed to get him something to drink. As he was finishing explain a video game trick to Shravan, Vandita handed him a mug of coffee which he refused as he had shared breakfast with Ishita while she sat down herself. Bala gave her a stern look as they all know what was coming up. So ending the silence since no one wanted to start talking, Vandita spoke up...
"So you wanted to talk?"
"Kind of. I mean...you know what I want to talk about."
"What I said...I...I can only say sorry..."
"Why"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean why are you sorry? Because you thought about what you said or because you don't like me ignoring you."
"No! I am actually very sorry for what I said. I realized I sounded interfering, but I meant it for your good. I mean I was so worried seeing Ishita in that state, I could only imagine what you went through and honestly I was just so worried that if anything had happened that day, how much it would affect you two. If something had happened to the baby and doctors said Ishita was straining herself with Ruhi, I know how deeply it could affect your relationship. Things can get ugly if you two won't manage things properly."
"I was hurt. That's all I can say."
"We understand. We meant something else, but it all sounded wrong when I think back."
"No you don't understand! With complete confidence I had told Ishita that Vandita and Bala are good friends. They are understanding, trustworthy and most importantly not judgemental. It hurt so much that my best friends were doing this and saying such things to me. I know you were right with some of the things, but wasn't it harsh?"
"I'm sorry Raman, I will apologize as much as you want, but I said it in the heat of the moment. I'm impulsive I know. But when it comes to children, I can't help myself from speaking especially with what happened to Ishita. You've seen it happen to me Raman and I would never wish it on anyone so I told you all those things out of concern...we weren't lucky like you two. We couldn't handle a pregnancy with a small baby as well. It's no secret what Bala and I went through and how our relationship was affected after my miscarriage..." she couldn't continue further as she started to cry and Bala comforted her while Raman realized he never thought of why exactly she had said everything she did and never ever thought this would be her reason. He saw her sobbing and knew what she had gone through at that phase of her life, but it never crossed his mind she linked it the incident with Ishita.
"Vandu..." he held her hand stopping his tears.
"I'm sorry, but I couldn't help myself...I got reminded of..." she wiped off her tears and tried to compose herself as he stopped her...
"No I'm sorry... I couldn't even understand...you were concerned and this matter is so close to you...Vandu please...I didn't know you were so worried..." he feel horrible for the way everything had turned out. Everyone was so into themselves at the time, they forgot about the other person. She was rash in speaking due to her memories and he was rash in his reaction because of the truth about the baby's paternity. It was a big mess that brought out a lot of hidden emotions and hurt all of them. Ishita was right...this needed to stop. And so he got up to leave making the couple upset, but he stopped at the door...
"We're leaving the day after tomorrow and having a small dinner with friends tonight...can you come?" He asked before leaving giving them a smile as they nodded while Vandita came over and gave him a hug. He asked to her stop her tears as Bala will kill him for causing them. She smiled and apologized once more while he asked her to forget it and apologized for causing their memories to come back. She told him that she wanted them to be happy with 1 child or 2 whatever they liked. He hugged her again and left with a smile on his face as Ishita had helped him once again get rid of a huge burden that would have been left on his chest of losing true friends like those two. His friends were happy, he was happy and he knew she would be happy as well...
