Anandi crying incessantly for Jagya, refusing to go to the divorce court, asking Jagya, "kyun Jagya", at the time of signing separation document, flashbacking endlessly on the good times with J and saying love can happen only once.

All this is equal to Anandi actually caring two hoots for J. Perfect logic. As far as I know at that point J hated her. There was that classic scene where J said he hated her and Shiv said he loved her. So how are A's feelings for J at that point the same as J's feelings for A?

There was a gap between the time J dumped A and married Gauri and BH realising JaAn marriage was legal. What was Anandi's status at that time? Was it not better for her to leap into dark with a knife than accept status of abandoned DIL? Why did she not do it?

Mangala is constantly and quite unnecessarily attacked for staying on at Akhiraj's for two square meals and a roof. Did not Anandi do exactly the same?

If subsequent to the realisation of legal validity of JaAn marriage, A stayed on at BH as the legitimate DIL, so is Mangala staying in her Jhalra house as the daughter-in-law of the house. In fact she has more rights than Anandi because the property belonged to her husband. Why should she run into the dark abandoning a house that is hers by every right? And certainly the reference to two square meals is misplaced and offensive.

Mangala never questioned Akhi? When Nimboli was badly beaten up and Managla wanted to administer to her, she looked at Akhi squarely in the eye and said she would reveal everything to the house inmates if she wasn't allowed to attend to Nimboli. Akhi immediately backed off. What was that? M quivering in front of Akhi? Her being a door-mat?

Even in the last episode, she was able to save Nimboli by speaking roughly to Akhi. What was that?

Finally, Anandi, was never a docile girl. Indeed so. Anandi, who spent close to a decade serving tea, cooking and doing tel maalish of Dsa, and abandoning studies on her say-so, was never a docile girl. Agree 100 per cent.

I don't see much difference between what Anandi was doing in BH prior to DS's change of heart and what Nimboli is doing now.

If anything, Anandi's benefactors, Bhairon and Sumitra were more helpless than Mangala with respect to Nimboli. They couldn't even stop little A from being locked up in the kal kotri.

And they were infinitely more powerful than Mangala.

Don't have time to read the whole thread, but trying to express my views again, especially about about accusations against Mangala's and her what is being said in her defence. And while I agree that only a few members are opposing Mangala but I don't think otherwise this thread would have become mini Mangla AT.
We generally appreciate the good work being done by characters - Bhairo, Sumitra, Shyam, teacherji etc. irrespective of the fact that they are not leads. It was never discussed that they are being appreciated because they are nice to leads (and indeed they were nice to leads). Mangala is the only character - which inspite of doing good for all is being criticised relentlessly and even mocked at. The sad part (as far as I am concerned) is that this criticism has some members (myself in particular) to look what the lead and other good characters did and pinpoint that even they were similarly placed and did similar mistakes. A lot of things that I ignored about Bhairo/Anandi/Sumitra etc. now seem not so good when seen in the light of accusations against Mangala and expectations from mangala. Recent example is stopping Phooli's marriage - I rechecked the episode update and realised Bhairo and not Anandi was behind stopping Phooli's marriage and while he had a balika vadhu with him at that time but he still had guts to send Phooli's parents to jail for the same crime that he himself did - very bad message indeed and Bhairo now does not seem to be as righteous as I thought earlier. How Anandi did not run away from oppression but kept weeping. How she resisted letting go of J as husband till the very last moment of signing of divorce papers in court etc. How she tried to save J during roti chori - Law and order is not a subject of Panchayat but she insisted on trying J in Panchayat and Shiv orverlooked his duties for his lady love and agreed and even attended the panchayat meeting. We (people like me who appreciate the good characters but are not fan) used to see the goodness of Anandi, Bhairo etc. and never raised the points that they could do more or that they should have done this or that.

I think even Anandi or Shiv would not pass the standard on which Mangala is being tried now. And all this when we clearly know that creatives do not keep any positive lady character for long. She will either disappear from serial (like teacherji and Sugna) or she will turn grey/negative like every other character from Sumitra to Meenu and Ganga. Otherwise - their lead will not look as good as they want. So, Mangala's fate has been sealed - still it is necessary to criticise and (to me) the reason seems to be - she is loving the little princess and Anandi is deprived of this love, that Anandi-Shiv's little princess is living in hell (it does not matter that Mangala did not kidnapped her) and Nimboli does know about love and care and will not learn it from Anandi (perhaps this is the reason that Harki is not being criticised). Mangala should run and land in SN asap - or now that she has Anandi's card - she should dispatch Nimboli to Anandi/ask for help from Anandi without thinking any further. Otherwise - she is just trying to satisfy her maternal instinct with this child. It does not matter that this child is alive only because of Mangala, that Anandi lost her daughter long ago and but for timely intervention of Mangala - she would never have seen her child again. It is also overlooked that if we live with someone (even a pet) we tend to form a bond if we are good at heart - even Chagni has formed a bond and will feel sad if Nimboli is taken away from there - it is another matter that both Mangala and Chagni (and Kamli) should feel better if they come to know that Nimboli will be well looked after that Anandi is actually Nimboli's mother. If they oppose after knowing the truth - then they should be criticised not now - when they have not done anything bad for any character.
