Should Karan Johar be blamed for Fawad Khan not signing films?

Fawad Khan quickly became a heart-throb for millions post his Bollywood debut opposite Sonam Kapoor in Khoobsurat. News of him signing his second film Battle for Bittora opposite Sonam again, quickly started doing the rounds after Khoobsurat's successful Box office run. Fawad was suddenly the Khan in demand as he was flooded with film offers. But then the news of him abruptly walking out of Battle for Bittora caught on.

Post that, Fawad Khan has rejected a ton of movies. He refused to sign a Sohail Khan film citing script issues, he also declined Ramesh Taurani's offer to star in his daughter Sneha's directorial debut and the only film Fawad has in hand right now is Kapoor and Sons.

From difference of opinion on scripts to an alleged no kissing' policy, many reasons have been cited so far for Fawad rejecting a host of films but BollywoodLife has EXCLUSIVELY learnt that Karan Johar is the actual reason.

We hear that the director has started mentoring Fawad Khan and he has roped him in for Kapoor and Sons and another Dharma film which would star Kangana Ranaut and Fawad in the lead roles (the official announcement is yet to be made.)

A source also confirms that it was KJo who advised Fawad to bow out of Battle for Bittora as the filmmaker thought that the movie won't do Fawad's blooming career any good. Apparently, Fawad is treading cautiously because he doesn't want his Bollywood career to meet the same fate as some of his peers. So, he is taking all the necessary advice from the celebrated director and has willingly stepped under his wing. We wonder if Fawad's loyalty to Karan will make him miss out on some plum projects!
