Both. But as long they keep the thick skin, they can use the platform to their benefit. Someone who chickens out like Anu, threatening to block people ain't made for social media. Such folks should use RanKat's route and stay away from it...

the incident that shocked me the most was vishakha's i personally was involved in that convo on FB and whatever the social pages shared that thing, it was hugely surprisingly, that most of the men supported that creep that was hell shocking ! posting someone's boobs, and u can't even object for it ? i don't mind being called a feminazi if that's the price to pay i totally laud vishakha for what she did. kudos !

Is Social Media actually a boon or a curse for Celebrities?

#SocialMedia a tool, a source which has changed the course of the entire world, Facebook, Tweet, Snapchat, these are the new trends, and there were times when people used to try hard swinging their fingers around the old styled telephones to get connected. How Time Flies ! Social Media has taken almost everyone in its skin, the people who loathe it, even they know how powerful and reachable the Internet now has become. But as they say like any particular thing, it has its own set of benefits and disadvantages, Social Media does connect you to a lot of people, especially for celebrities, It's a great way to stay connected with fans, but on the flip side, it's also a medium to feed trolls, people who enjoying bashing people out of no reason simply because it gives them pleasure. And many celebrities have fallen into that bogus trap, however sometimes things go out of the hand and take such an unexpected turn which would leave you shocked. So the question that remains at the end - Is social media really a boon or a curse?

Anushka Sharma recently got busted for a spelling error on her tweet she made to give her tribute to Dr. Abdul Kalam, while we understand that she should have been asked to instead take her tweet down and correct it, The trolls took it far behind and started making jokes of her knowledge and education. We could only say that Anushka saw it Coming.

Neha Dhupia made a Tweet about Mumbai coming to a stand still and criticized the government for not paying attention to the real issues and instead focusing on 'Selfies' schemes. While some people did come to her support. The way she was trolled back down and forth was a bit too much. She was asked to first justify her position as a citizen by doing sleazy movies like 'Julie' come on now.

Shruti Seth the popular TV actress criticized the 'selfie' with Daughters scheme and in no time the trolls made sure that Shruti had to face the brunt. She didn't even get half the support from her fans than the bitterness she received. So much so, that she had to respond back with an open letter. The two minutes of fame brought Shruti into limelight. All we can say !

But the most shocking incident happened was with 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Say' Actress Vishakha Singh. Vishakha posted a photo on facebook to which a person replied back on her body saying 'great boobs' Vishakha gave out to him, putting his comment into shame. But Surprisingly, the person who had posted the comment found a lot of support from people and they instead tried to insult Vishakha for being a 'feminazi' 'insecure' 'publicity hungry woman'.

These cases are regular but there are cases where actors had even to leave Twitter. Good Looking Imran Khan had to quit twitter when he was supposedly bashed by a Twitter user. Abhishek Bacchan rarely loses cool but recently he went out his anger on a Troll who posted a picture of his daughter making fun of his movies. Fortunately, the person took the tweet down after a while and the matter sorted. But there are trolls feeding within Celebrities. What better example could be than Kamaal Rashid Khan(KRK) now that dude had 1 Million Followers. All these things just make us wonder if Social Media is only about one side of a coin. It's just upto us how we deal it ? Right ?

When you step into the world of entertainment, glamor, and fame you have to pay a price. Most these stars know that and yet jump into the world. This goes for not just an actor or actress but also any musician, singer, even athlete, etc. Where you will have fans, you will have critics too - even bashers (straight up people that hate you). You sign up for this when you decide to take a path where you become well known and recognized (any public figure). Similar is the case of these same public figures who jump on any form of social media. You know what you're signing up for when you open that FB account or Twitter account or any account. You know that everything you say will be analyzed - sometimes over analyzed. It doesn't take a genuis to figure out the simple stuff in life. If you can love and embrace all the positivity you receive from those that are your fans, then that also comes with a price and you must learn how to deal with the non-fans as well. There is not one public figure who doesn't have at least 10 non-fans, haters, critics. As a public figure you must think twice about what you post as it can be interrupted in a number of ways. It doesn't take a genuis to figure that out either. I think sometimes it's best to lay low if you're a well known public figure on social media. Either lay low or post non-controversial stuff.
