hey sorry yaar for not commenting on prev parts but was busy with some stuffs. ishra relation is progressing very beautifully from last 3 part. they are slowly slowly started to accept each other with their small gestures.. hey I was thinking that such kind of scene will be here where Raman will share his insecurities with ishita regarding baby. about features and all but as usual ishita maturely handled everything.

she is trying her level best to keep them closer. I lied when she placed his hand on her belly and how beautifully he kept his head on her shoulder. just loved that part.

She couldn't believe for a moment what he had done and when she finally understood, she looked down at her hand. Placing Ruhi on the bed, she caressed the spot he had planted a kiss on. She couldn't believe he was doing this to her, in these past two days she didn't need to wear blush as she would end up pink because of him. Smiling she kissed the spot his lips had been a few minutes ago and found herself blushing again at the thought of what she had just done. Thinking of what he had been doing a few minutes ago, she looked over at the mess he had left behind on the table and his breakfast that lay on the table.

Picking up his plate and mug, she sat back on the bed as Ruhi was handed a rattle to play with. She took his mug and drank the remainder of his tea. Although she wasn't sure at first and hesitated while taking the first couple of sips from his mug, she found it completely okay to drink from his mug after and continue to do so as she played with Ruhi...

He reached the temporary office they had set up with only one thing on his mind. Ishita. Every day he did the same thing and kissed Ruhi bidding her goodbye as he left for his day, but today it was different. She was right there with Ruhi and he always said good bye to her, but never behaved like this before. Something had really changed between them since last night. Her one step had changed him drastically. He felt like he could express his fondness for her more often now and through gestures, not just words anymore.

And maybe that's why he was able to kiss her hand today. And that pink face of hers was all he needed to give his day that seemed to start off on a bad note with Mihir's call that much needed happiness. Whenever she blushed, it made him forget he was a father and husband, he felt like teen who was seeing beauty for the first time. He found himself so lost in the thoughts of the small kiss he gave her and their moments last night that he didn't realize that he had been waiting in the parking lot for a few minutes to turn into a spot that had been empty minutes ago. A car's horn brought him out of his thoughts and he shook his head calling himself crazy for being so lost and acting so silly.

The whole day was such a drag for the both of them as they couldn't stop thinking about their moments last night and Raman's sudden kiss this morning. She was going through bad mood swings the whole day and found herself sad when he didn't pick up her call and ignored his return calls in her anger. Mihika also tolerated the burn of mood swings and got yelled at for siding with Raman when she explained he might be busy. Her only solace was Ruhi who she cuddled onto and couldn't never be mad at. And along with her was Raman's photo with the tiny Ruhi in his arms for the first time.

She had found the picture when she tried to get caught up on her office work and found the album Raman had shown her the day he talked about Ruhi. And flipping through the pages she found a picture of an emotional Raman with a month old Ruhi in his arms. It was such a beautiful sight and considering her emotional mood, she found tears in her eyes. And after a few minutes staring at the picture and her daughter now, a smile found its way to her face. She tried to imagine Raman in a couple of months holding the very child that was in her womb right now. She smiled a bit wider remembering his plans for the baby's preparation and wondered how excited he would be while holding their baby or would he get emotional like he was with Ruhi. As she wondered she lay back on the bed with Ruhi by her side and the photo in her hand and dozed off...

He on other hand had been impatient to get home as he wanted to see her reaction when he would get home. He wanted to cuddle next to her touching their baby with Ruhi next to them as well this time around. He wanted to be with his family, but he was stuck with work all day. Since he wanted to get back to Delhi as soon as possible due to having more help with Ishita there, he was trying to get all the work done soon, but it was taking away his time with Ishita. He had to choose one option and chose to get his work done before as more than his wants, her needs were important to him.

He sulked as his manager informed him their investors were running late and would be here in a few minutes. Resting back on his chair, his eye caught the small framed picture he had in the corner of his desk. Picking up the frame, he smiled looking at the framed photocopy of Ishita's ultrasound picture. Suddenly he remembered something and pulled out his phone and scrolled through his pictures finding a picture he took of Ishita and Ruhi sleeping. Looking at his family he thought about the few moments they had managed to spend together last night until he was called for his next meeting...

He entered his room expecting to find her awake with Ruhi. But to his surprise she was fast asleep while Mihika was rocking Ruhi in her crib. Walking over to Mihika, he startled the woman as he picked up Ruhi and asked what was happening...

"Akka was pretty tired and went to sleep earlier today, so I stayed here with Ruhi since she can't be left alone and Akka needs rest. And Jiju you also let her sleep. She had been cranky all day. And it was pretty bad."

"Was it really that bad?"

"She was just angry at times, but then she was really sad at others. You're lucky she is sleeping for now otherwise she was mad since you didn't answer her call in the afternoon."

"It was back-to-back meetings today and I hardly got time. But was she really mad?"

"Don't worry I think you'll be okay."

"I hope so too! Now you can go relax, I'll manage Ruhi. She must have bothered you like last time again."

"She was crying after seeing Akka all tired and with crazy moods, but she fell asleep soon after and the rest of the day went by in feeding, burping, changing, and watching her with her toys. Luckily she kept on seeing Akka nearby and it went well."

"Lucky you. Now you go do what you want, I'm here with Ruhi. But before you leave, has Ishita eaten yet?"

"I gave her a little bit to eat before she slept."

"That's fine then. Thanks again."

"No problem. And is it okay if I go out for a while? Actually my friends..."

"Go ahead, you don't need to ask."

"Last time you got worried about me going out at night."

"I can't tell you what to do and what not. I was just worried about you being all alone, but you're going with friends today anyways."

She gave him a huge smile and thanked him before walking out leaving him with Ruhi. He sat down on the chair after his tiring day and looked at his giggling daughter that brought a smile on his face. He gently rocked her in his arms slowly putting her to sleep as he narrated his day to her telling her how much he missed her and her mom. As he placed Ruhi on the bed next to Ishita and set some pillows next to her while he went to change.

Coming back into the bedroom, he sat on the chair again thinking about what Ishita had told him, he needed to talk to Mihir. And it needed to happen now. The only time he had in his packed schedule was tomorrow and so he needed to make the call now. He really wished to have Ishita sit next to him as he did so, but he couldn't wake her up either. So he picked up his phone and decided to do this himself. Scrolling down to the name he usually passed by, he stopped at Mihir and clicked on the name. He wanted to cut the call when he heard the first ring, but looked at Ishita and remembered what she told him this morning and stayed on the line until Mihir picked up on the third ring...

"Hello?" he heard Mihir's voice on the other line.

"Hello?"

"Raman! Is that you?!" Mihir recognized his voice and was totally surprised and even checked his phone to find "Raman Bhai" on the screen.

"Yep, it's me..."

"I can't believe this! Thank you so much for calling. I don't even-"

"Mihir...I'm going to get to the point. You want to talk to me, say something?"

"I do and I want to-"

"Listen please...I'll meet you, but it was be to finish off everything. We will talk and then I don't want your interference in my life. Simple as that. So are you free tomorrow?"

"..."

"Hello? You still there?"

"I am... and I'm free...tomorrow morning & evening. I have somewhere to go in the afternoon. So when?"

"Morning? Then 8?"

"Fine. Where?"

"Your place."

"Sure." And Raman hung up the phone immediately leaving Mihir regretting the accusation he had made on him again. As he hung up the phone, Raman felt his head throbbing and looked over at the sleeping Ishita. It was now he wanted her to hug him, stroke his hair telling it was all okay, but alas this time it was better she was kept away from taking on his stress. But that didn't stop him from finding a moment of relaxation with her. He lay down in bed next to her and rested his head on her shoulder near her heart. Hearing the faint rhythm of her heartbeat and attempting to feel his child by keeping his hand on her stomach, he feel into a deep slumber much needed for his day tomorrow...

"Raman...you sure you want to go alone? I can go with you for company." She asked as he stood in front of the mirror fixing his hair. He had been pretty upset about this meeting with Mihir since the morning and had been venting on other things. She had handed him 3 shirts to change as he was trying to delay the meeting and had to find different colored files for him as he cursed himself for his organization and luckily today Mihika had made breakfast otherwise the maid would have been in for some complaints about the food. And now he had a smoke after she let him out on the balcony, he seemed to have calmed down and now refused when she offered to go with him seeing his behavior all morning.

"I'm fine Ishita. You said we need to talk it out and I think it's better if it is just the two of us. I...I hope you get what I'm saying." She noticed his shirt's collar wasn't folded properly from the back and adjusted it as he was busy talking.

"No you're right. He might feel comfortable with me and honestly Raman I don't want to interfere between you two. You go ahead." As she finished talking, he held her shoulder and had her sit on the bed before he said anything...

"I'm going to come back home after the meeting..." she knew he needed to let out the feelings from the meeting as he could control his emotions there and she was the only he wanted to come back to...

"I'll be here. We can talk."

"Thanks..." he gave her a small hug and held her hand tightly as she asked him to go.

"Now go, and remember it's just for the better." She smiled at him and watched him closely as he gave Ruhi his goodbye kiss and watched as he slowly moved down to Ruhi's shoulder. She bit her lip as he watched him bring his face closer and was left open mouthed as he brought himself up and rubbed his nose against Ruhi's cheek. Getting up with a smirk on his face, he winked at her before he walked out the door.

He pulled into the driveway of the house that was once frequently visited by him and Shagun. He sighed as he thought of how this place was once his second home and now was a place he dreaded to come to. The memories attached the house refused to fade, and he tried to brush them aside to focus on why he was here. Getting out of his car, he looked up at the room with the balcony. It was the biggest room and Shagun's room, he remembered how precious it was to her and she never gave it Mihir even after marriage. Remembering how he had to stop the argument between the siblings over the room with him choosing Mihir's side, a faint smile lingered on his face until the door opened to an excited and thankful Mihir coming out.

He had seen Raman from his sister's room and rushed to fetch him from the door. Leading him in he ordered the servant to get all of Raman's favourite snacks while Raman refused. They both sat down in the living room and looked at each other quietly not knowing how to start this conversation while they both knew what they would talk about. Twiddling their thumbs both of them were silent until the servants came back offering Raman a plate of his favourite snacks. Raman refused and when the servant who knew Raman well asked again, he replied he didn't have time and was here for some quick work. Finally Mihir spoke up ending the awkward silence that could be felt in the room...

"She was my only family..."

"She was my family as well...my wife."

"You've moved on already. I haven't."

"Doesn't mean I forgot everything."

"Bha- Raman..."

"Why did you want to meet me?"

"To apologize and meet my niece."

"For what?"

"I wanted to say sorry for all I said to you. It was my anger. When I found out about Shagun, I was just so lost. You know what she meant to me, and I couldn't understand what was going on. She had talked to me just 2 days ago and then I get a call from you saying she's gone...I didn't understand. All I could think about what the fact she was not there anymore and it was all because of her pregnancy. I didn't think...I thought it was you who continuous pressurized her and forced her for the baby...but now I found out you didn't even know...I was so hurt thinking that my sister went through a miscarriage and you should have at least consider the reason behind it before asking her to keep this child, but then I found out you were kept away from that truth as well...I just went ahead and said such stupid things and accusations to you...I'm so sorry for all of that. It wasn't your fault, it was just a misunderstanding from me, unawareness from you, and hiding from Shagun's side. We were all right and wrong in our own ways, right?"

"I know...and I was hurt by what you said. But accepted the bitter truth and realized your words were true and never said anything about that to you...it's what you said afterwards that really hurt. And I won't ever forget that. The fact that you even said you wanted to take my child away from me! That's why I keep Ruhi and myself away from you!"

"I...I did mean it when I said that. But it was only because Ruhi was the last memory of my sister and I still thought you caused Shagun's death back then. I considered you selfish and unfit to take care of Ruhi then. I thought the man who didn't care about his wife's life wouldn't be able to take care of his daughter either and that's why I wanted Ruhi's custody. I just wanted it to all okay for her. I was just trying to do the best for Ruhi."

"And now I have the best mother for Ruhi; Ishita. So what do you have to say now?"

"I don't know..."

"What do you mean? I told you I have a mother for Ruhi who can take care of her and love her like Shagun would have. Are you trying to say you still want Ruhi."

"How can I believe that? You are so happy with your new wife, how I can believe you are not just saying that and it's true?"

"Because I said so! Maa started looking for a mother for me as I reached Delhi, but I didn't bother with any of those girls because none of them were fit for Ruhi. Ishita was the one who was the exception. Something about her made me consider her as a mother for Ruhi. And I didn't marry her right away. I watched her with Ruhi, and I was the one who saw how attached Ruhi got to her in one meeting. Ruhi cannot stand any stranger holding her and she was jumping into Ishita's arms. I saw that same bond for days before getting married. Trust me she is perfect for Ruhi..."

"I don't know...I can't believe all that until I see it. I can't trust words anymore. I need to see things to believe them."

"And what about you wanting Ruhi...you haven't said anything about that."

"I don't want to take Ruhi away until she is being taken care of well."

The small hope he had of him and Mihir being able to bring back their friendship shattered right then. It hurt him. This man he considered his younger brother was now saying all this to him. He still thought Ruhi was not in capable hands and the mere thought hurt him once again like it had the first day those words came from Mihir's mouth. But today they hurt way more.

The way Mihir talked made him feel like Ishita's mothering was being doubted on and he couldn't take it. He knew how important she was not only to him, but to his daughter. Ruhi was the child wouldn't sleep or eat properly and was now able to do all that easily in Ishita's arms, she was the same child who would fall sick at the drop of a hat yet hadn't fallen sick in a month after Ishita came to take care of her. Ishita was God's biggest gift to Ruhi. She was the mother that was taken away from her. And if Mihir raised a question on that mother, he wouldn't tolerate it and wanted the man sitting in front of him to know what Ishita was for Ruhi...

"Fine! You want to see what Ishita and Ruhi's relationship is like, then that's what will happen. I'm returning to Delhi soon and I want all this finished off before then. So tomorrow come over to my place...for dinner, see what Ruhi and Ishita are like together, then tell me what you think. Mihir mark my words, you will see how close they are. And from the moment you realize that I have found the right mother for my daughter, I want you to leave my life and this time not to come back. I've asked you to leave in a peaceful manner and I hope you can at least respect that for the sake of our old friendship."

"No! Please Raman think by placing yourself in my spot. Do you realize after Shagun, Ruhi is my only family? She's all that I have, no one else. I just want her to be raised with a lot of love. Please...and I'm sorry for doubting your ability to get the perfect mother for her and to raise her, but I don't want to take chances. I lost my sister because I was never careful enough. I could have told you about her problem, but I assumed you knew. This time I don't want to assume, I want to be sure...that's all I want. And once I'm sure I would love to have Ruhi live with you because at the end of the day you are her dad. But I still hope we can start this friendship once again..."

"Mihir today you have proven that we can never have that same relationship again..."

"Raman..."

"By saying Ruhi is the only family you had left, you really ended our relationship once Shagun left. I guess no longer am I your brother or friend like you had said, I'm just the man who's raising your niece. Thanks for everything Mihir. Now I would genuinely want you to leave..."

"Raman-"

"Thanks Mihir, I need to go home. My daughter and wife are waiting." And with that he got leaving the place wiping off the tear that escaped without his knowledge...
