Come September, Sid-Kat fly to London

The actors kick-off an unusual love story which will travel in time.

Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra will fly off to London in September to start filming Nitya Mehra's directorial debut, Kal Jisne Dekha. It's a love story which travels through time and justifies the title. "Even though everyone loves the title, it's still tentative," a source close to the development told Mirror.

Nitya had worked on the Indian schedules of two Hollywood projects - Mira Nair's The Reluctant Fundamentalist and Ang Lee's Life of Pi - and had assisted on the Indian remake of the American TV show, 24, featuring Anil Kapoor as the desi Jack Bauer. She had also assisted Farhan Akhtar with the 2004 drama, Lakshya, and the Don remake in 2006. She shared her script with Farhan and his partner, producer Ritesh Sidhwani, early last year and they loved it. The male lead was first offered to Aamir Khan and then Hrithik Roshan, before Sidharth Malhotra was signed. He will be romancing Katrina Kaif. In an interview to Mirror (Nov 15, 2014), Sidharth had grinned, "I watched Katrina's films in college. Hope I won't look like a junior on screen." The film is a mature love story, which begins in present day London and goes back and forth in time. "The story unfolds through flashbacks and flash-forwards. The styling is currently underway," informs the source.

Buzz is, the time travel adventure, which was to kick off in April, has been pushed to next year since Katrina has yet to wrap up Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos with beau Ranbir Kapoor. But Mirror has learnt that the unit is all set to fly off to the UK in two months. Prep is currently on in full swing. "A unit went to London for a recce in May and the location was locked recently. The film will be shot in London, amongst other international locations, and is slated to release mid-2016," adds the source.
