Firstly I am glad the judges are changed. But the show is still far from perfect.Saw the show yesterday for the first time. Judges were judging the dance based on the difficulty level. I think a dance show should be judged based on footwork, coordination, choreography and chemistry between the partners?? It felt more like an acrobatic show for me.
I dont know all the names of the contestants, but the girl with one leg. Dont get me wrong she was fantastic. But I dont think she deserved a 10 because the performance had flaws. I think its not fair for the other contestants and neither for her that judges are giving her high scores out of sympathy.
I miss the old JDJ when contestants had dance challenges like Samba, jive, rumba etc. Currently they do only freestyle and acrobats. the show would be so much better if they focused more on dance challenges rather than just have them do some random dances.

Judges comments were confusing...

They wanted the props to be diffcult, dance seemed to be secondary to them...
In other words tough prop - whatever that means - impressed them more than a good dance

Subhreet's inclusion - it's a tough call to make

Problem is with their consistency

They didn't bother about the difficulty level on Saturday's contestants, but they made huge fuss on Sunday.

Vivian was given extra marks, because he took 4 days to learn to use the skates (Whatever u call it) but they suggested sanaya to have 4 machines to display the ski motion more clearly. Why not suggest Vivian to have a skate for his partner too, to make it more mobile & increase the difficulty level ..

Some contestants were completely ditched for the difficulty level, while some were praised and over marked... So I don't have problem on what they base their scores, they just need to be consistent with all.

Marks are having no consistency. Earlier class of dance were good and so was judges segments. think what Lauren , Ganesh, Shahid and Karan will comment when it will be classical turn. earlier it was Madhuri and Remo. Subhreet must be judge by her dance performance not by her physical disability. please judges your 10 marks to her is unfair to other participants who had given very nice and good performances.

The last time we got the see the aforementioned dance forms was in Sony. You might be new to this but listen, Colors is all about masala, gimmicks and a lot of unfairness.

While this has to be one of the better seasons in Colors, I still have a lot of complaints. Bringing in Subhreet itself makes the competition unfair. They will always judge her on the basis of having one leg and give her a 10, whilst others will have to work their asses off. The sympathy factor, no matter how much they try to conceal it, is there.

Zero consistency with marks. It is so obvious they like some more than others 😵 The acrobatic trend is something I blame DID for. They rope in most choreographers from there. They've clearly tried this season to keep the dance quotient high, but the judges are really failing, esp with Lauren being crazy for Scarlett over anything she does.

True that. This happened in dancing with the stars too in a previous season. This celebrity called Amy with prosthetic legs came up to the finals and many good dancers were eliminated. But honestly I was amazed by her performance. It was lovely, but not worthy of a 10.

I completely agree with you/ I'm so annoyed. I felt like with the whole revamping of judges and "reloaded" aspect of it, this season of JDJ would be better. But to my utter and absolute disappointment, it's the same crap fest we've been subject to for the past few years. Blahhh

I hate how judges are so inconsistent with their marking. They need to reign themselves in and stop giving out 9s and 10s for mediocre performances.

Secondly, I totally agree with you on the whole acrobatics thing. I wanna see real dance. I wanna the celebrities working hard to master down steps. I don't wanna see stupid behind-the-scene contrived segments where contestants/ choreographers complain/ do some nautanki. I wanna see real dancing.

I hate how the dancing part is so stretched out. Instead of having stupid host jokes, stupid segments, stupid contestant-Shahid crap, I wanna see dancing.

Regarding Subreet -- I feel like the judges themselves kinda make her feel different. They keep judging her basing on her disability rather than her ability to dance/ improve. This is not to say that I dont think her disability shouldn't be taken into consideration. It should. But it shouldn't overpower her performance. If she makes mistakes (which she does) the judges should point it out and judge her accordingly. Constant 9s and 10s is ridiculous. I remember the earlier seasons had another actress who had a wooden peg. And yet she danced wonderfully -- to the point where I actually didn't know about her disability. And the judges scored her accordingly too.

No offense to Colours, but this show has really come down from the time it was on Sony.

we are almost at the end of this season, if I look back at the performances, I think this was the best season so far. Saw some wonderful & unforgettable performances from Sanaya & Faisal.
Mohit was good in patches, like the best performers of other seasons. But Sanaya & Faisal was consistently outstanding. They kept beating themselves week after week.
