Known as the strongest in the whole island he was there always there for everyone. No one knew the reason behind him have a wooden sword when all had sword made of iron. It was a complete mystery. It had many stories. It was considered the divine by the people. He used it only when he was alone was the belief. There were many other similar stories. Not one nor two nor three but many were the number of stories behind the sword.
He was the strongest in Andaman and Nicobar islands when they were together. He was very loyal, honest and one important quality about him was his way of staying away from any girl whether it is his sister or any other. He was simply known that he will be there in any hardships and for everyone. No fear of anything, there was a blind trust on him. But all the trust others gave him was earned by him itself, but trust breaks with just a scratch.
All the ups and downs he was alone serving his people just like a perfect king. He was no king but an angel in disguise as called popularly. No matter what obstacle he has to face he faced it with stern determination.
All unmarried girls wanted to wed him. There mindset was to impress him whenever chance was give. All knew that only one could marry him but they consoled themselves by just a few words that they could be the lucky one.
One golden evening he was there near the sea shore all alone, waiting to watch the sunset. The deep red sky had already formed and sun was about to set but he missed it even after being there, standing there. He was busy the waters but his mind was in the sun.
The gust of breeze broke this trance and he heard something. What was it he was hearing he couldn't understand in his trance. Like a hungry person flies to the food if smelt he also flies behind this unknowingly.
Fly means not literally flying. His half conscious mind broke due to this. The waves flashed on him and he missed it the first time in his life. How can he was the question. Maybe a world record for the world and a personal one for himself. But soon he was out of this questionnaire.
The melodies voice was heard again and he was pulled to there. A girl of about his height was there stagnant on a huge boulder. She did not know he was there. She was busy singing to herself.
What a melodious voice was hers?
Who was she?
Why is she here today?
Why was she not there yesterday?
What is the reason?
One side of his mind was flashing such questions.
Why are you still here?
Stop her and introduce yourself. He could not muster up courage for this very thought. This very thought was haunting him.
If he does so what might happen?
Will she not respond?
Or will she run away?
Or will she complain someone?
Or or will it be like the trust on him will be broken??
No more could he resist, he broke her voice. Untill now she thought she was alone and she sang all the way down but now she discovered something new that someone was there to give a ear to what she was doing.
Suno, kya tum yeh phir se dobaara gha sakte ho?
Ji
Phir is gha do na
She continued to sing what she was singing and giving her ears to him. She did not even turn to his side. He was impatiently waiting for her to put forward the song again. His stone heart was yearning for this. Some called him stone hearted fellow while sometime he was also called the king hearted one.
He was waiting for a little while now but no response nor the second time turned up.
Suno, phir se gha do na
No reply came and she continued.
Many things were going in his heart and his mind.
Why was he feeling so different when hearing this god gifted voice?
What was so special about her?
Why was it so?
Why?
He was facing a dilemma. New feelings were arising in him now. He was almost going to shout at her but she sung the song again. When it finished he wanted more.
She turned around to go. His heart told him to stop her but his mind rebutted to this very thought.
What was he going to ask her?
It said if he asks her something that will lead to the trust break and the respect for him by the people. But his heart showed his the right track though it was full of thorns. No matter what one has to follow their heart.
She went past him and he heard his heart and held her had. Pulled her in front making her fall on him and causing him to loose balance because of this sudden reaction and her falling on top. They lied together he below and her on top.
It was like the heaven fell on her.
How is it possible to look at someone who is a stranger and that too like this?
She was brought out of this sub unconscious state by the noise of the wake. He was busy recalling what just happened.
She stood up and ran. But he was not late. He quickly put this
Mein Pratap...
She was surprised. He was the well known Pratap.
Mein Pratap...kya aap hume apna naam bata sakti hai
She would mind he knew but he asked the question. Suddenly the reply came
Mein Ajabde...
He was happy. Now he made the major blunder.
Kya tum phir se aoge kal...
She ran away without a reply. He knew she would come. She was in a state of confusion. She wanted to go but her village rules did not allow her to.
She ran home and shut the room's door and forced herself on the bed. Her eyes started producing something known as tears. Were they happy one's or sad one's she couldn't identify. She continued. After a while her eyes had shed so much that the bed was fully wet. She regretted that behaviour of hers.
She took a decision and that was final. She decided not to go and to stay back home for some days. But she did not know that Pratap could find her and her house easily. It was her luck that he opt to wait rather than forcing her.
This side he was waiting for her in that particular milestone. He knew she would hesitate to come to meet him but he preferred to wait.
It started pouring cats and dogs after a while but she did not bother to come. Some corner of her heart told her to forget the consequences and to live today and forget tomorrow for just now. She did not know what to do. She had two option either to go or not to go.
He had confidence in her so he walked down the forest knowing that she would come and would be alone. There would be dangers lurking around so he decided to walk in the forest and spot her and protect her. She also walked down the forest alone and then found the pouring waters. She decided to stay back under a tree.
She waited and soon came a frequency. She knew it would be some wild beast. She knew to protect herself and she carried a dagger along. As soon as the sound came she removed her dagger and attacked behind.
It was no beast but him. She placed the dagger on his neck. On the strongest of all, on Pratap. He was surprised. Now he knew few qualities of her. He also wanted that she also accepts her feeling though he did not tell her yet. But he was going to tell soon.
He came front as soon as the dagger reached his neck and cover her pretty jaws with his rough palm. She was astonished, question again.
Why did he do that?
He understood from her doe shaped, eyeliner drawn eyes what she was wondering.
Ajabde woh humne aisa isliye kiya thaki aap na shor machaye aur koi janwar yaha nahi aaye.
Ji dhanyawad.
They both walked back to the village. It was quite a distance from there to her village. She also now understood what her heart felt but waited for an opportunity to convey her inner emotions.
Both were throwing eyes on each other constantly. Continuously staring at each other. All talks were under taken by their eyes and mouth lost its significance.
The downpour soon increased. Her veil came out of her hair slides clutches. Flew away, she got surprised but a long hand stretched forward and brought it under the strong fist. She was happy and released her eye lids down in happiness. These strong hands placed the veil on her braided hair without her noticing. He slid the hair slide to protect the veil from flying away. It is now she gained her senses and she was little annoyed because of the closeness. She ran away fearing the people. But after few steps she stopped.
Soon both reached the village drenched. They stopped on the outskirts. Both were happy.
Ajabde kal bhi nadi ke kinare aa jana
Ji
Her heart accepted the feelings but her mind always reminded her of the rules of the village.
Remember the rules, Ajabde. You already know that a girl from a village has to marry a boy from the same village. You also know Pratap is from other village even though he is known by all. Also think about your parents, how will they feel if at all you run away with Pratap. Think.
She was influenced by the word parents itself. Her heart was not ready to accept any of this. Eventually the heart won in this inner turmoil.
Now it was a daily routine to meet each other. It had become the part of the life. Soon they realised what they wanted.
Ajabde hume apse kuch zaroori kehna hai
Ji kahiye
Ajabde woh kya hai na ki hume apse kehna hai ki
Ki kya
Ki h..um apse p..re..m karte hai
For a second the sky broke and fell on her but she was on cloud nine. She could do nothing but to bring her hand forward and cling on to him. He got his answer from this sudden hug itself.
They both were on the last cloud. This embrace continued and went on continuing. For the next few minutes both were feeling the warmth in each other. His hand came forward and lifted her chin up.
That moment both could not stop themselves and their noses met. Soon the lips also met. The warm air touching each other. The everlasting first kiss was refreshing. It got energy in them.
Meets everyday caused issues. Someone noticed them and that was it. A session was called in the village and she was asked not to be with him. The trust people had broke now.
But the live for each other did not stop them from meeting. Now it was more of a pressure on her. She couldn't show her face to the villagers because of this. She was happy with one section of life and the other section was like hell. Getting blasted everyday was now a part of the day.
This became a issue of concern along with a issue of entertainment for commoners. A fair held every year was planned this year too and this became a stress buster. All gathered and enjoyed. Pratap was there looking to catch a glimpse of Ajabde in the new clothes.
He found her behind the tree all alone. He was concerned and asked about what the matter was. She did not reply instead started shedding tears.
He could not not understand what was wrong. It was a fair and there were hustle and bustle. Amidst this noise her mother could hear her crying. This caused her to reach the spot to know what was wrong.
Instead of answering or telling something she increased her crying. The village gathered around. Her mother got angry and spoke our whatever she could. Abusing him throwing false allegations on him were not bear able by him.
Issues worsened, causing Pratap to rage in fire. She was still crying. Her mouth did not open. Her mothers words poked his heart. This caused a very huge wound and his hand directly reached the wooden sword.
Removed it out and pushed it into the earth's crust. It was there and he was not in his senses. He made a line from that tree to the beach. The earth cracked open and the place split into two with one side carrying Ajabde and the other having Pratap. She ran to him asking to stop but he could not hear from the other side.
The piece Ajabde was standing further split and she was left all alone. Pratap jumped and caught on to the smaller piece. They were left all alone in a full island.
All others were surprised to know the powers of a sword. Here after they decided to support any love story. This side they shed tears.

Acha Ajabde kya hum apko Ajab ke naam se pukar sakte hai
Ji zaroor.
They were happy. The forest areas had tribals and they did not know about the story of Pratap and Ajabde. They also did not know about the splitting of land. They were friendly and kind.
Pratap and Ajabde to find place for living they approached the tribes. They had to lie that they were married because of rules and regulations. The tribes arranged a feast for them. They all enjoyed.
Ajabde looked like an angel descended from heaven. With the tribal attire she was rocking the stage. Pratap looked more handsome in the new form. The feast went all well nad all went to bed.
Ajabde slept with the ladies whereas Pratap slept with the menfolk.
In the morning pooja was arranged and all ladies had their shower and gathered in the temple. It was huge and was well decorated. Ajabde did not know that a married women will wear sindoor so she went without wearing. A lady noticed and asked Pratap to apply the sindoor on Ajabde's scalp.
Both were surprised. He did so to cover up the lie and she accepted. The nature also supported their decision. The trees around shed their flowers on them approving the decision. The bells started going in the temple and gave them a confidence that their decision is right.
Last a lady concluded
"Made for each other from heaven itself and no separation has caused them pain and will never"
Hope you all enjoyed it. Please do leave comments and criticisms while going back.
