Deepika singh was born on 26 July, 1989 in Delhi,

into a Rajput family.

Fondly called as Supriya by close relatives and friends, Deepika was a shrewd and naughty child. Though the eldest out of her 3 siblings , she was notorious during her childhood and her mother was sick of her naughtiness. She did her early schooling in Delhi Air Force School, later had to change around 4 schools as her dad kept changing places. She did her graduation in commerce and post graduation in Business Administration with Marketing as specialization from Punjab Technical University. During her college time, the beautiful Deepika was very bright student in studies.

During her college time, she always wanted to become a TV actress. Following her dreams, she did participate in college theaters in Delhi.In her growing years, she had to come to terms with her family problems owing to dad's business suffering losses. In a bid to help him out, she joined his garments shop in Karol Bagh, Delhi By God's grace, the business picked up and things were smooth sailing from there. Yet, she had felt a void within her deep down in here heart, she was attracted to the glamour world.She knew she could not do a 9 to 5 job. She discovered her passion lay in acting and she had also done theater while studying.

Here freinds who were working in advertising and event companies forwarded her pictures and she gave her first punjabi hip hop music album dilli di sharabi, Later she appeared in ads for inverters, singh mehendi bindi tried modelling too . Auditions for a serial in star plus was going on and her freind sent her pic along with hers. Luckily Deepika got selected.

Initially her parents were not supportive of her plans to move to Mumbai and pursue acting. They thought the success rate here was zero. To try her luck in the acting field, she migrated to Mumbai.she got a golden opportunity to play the lead role in Star Plus serial Diya Aur Baati Hum.

When Deepika cleared the auditions after which she gave look test for almost 1 and half months for this character. Little did she realize that her simple yet powerful character would have a lasting impact on her audience. Before getting into the role she had done a lot of hard work, During her struggling days, she used to sleep empty stomach to save money. She took part in workshop for two months and Rohit gave her training. She used to recite her lines to Chotu aka Aryan Sharma before giving takes, Neeluji too was very helpful to Deepika during her early days as Sandhya. Deepika did a Sandhya in real life too. Sandhya fought with traditions to become a cop, in the same way Deepika had to battle social norms. This to successfully convince her parents to get her younger sister purva married despite the fact that she is still single ..

Deepika has made people stand up and take notice of her acting skills

She got a lot of fame through television and now is commonly known as Sandhya only.Just like her character in the serial, she is very positive, confident and hard working girl. When her dad saw her first episode, he had said, "This field is made for you, where you have given your 100 per cent".The sudden recognition that she got was initially scary, because stardom was new to her. But being in the television industry for almost four years, she had learnt to handle it. Earlier she used to feel weird if someone complimented her but now she talk to her fans and also reciprocate their good wishes. Though Sandhya gave her immense popular she is still a down to earth person always grounded and never forgets to expresses her gratitude to those by whom she is what today.

Years after Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii aired in 2000, the character of Sandhya was a world opposite to those of Tulsi and Parvati.

Director of Diya Aur Baati - Rohit Raj Goyal was the boyfriend of Deepika before her marriage. After they both started to work together, on spending a lot of time with each other they had a strong bonding. Recently, both of them got married to each other after their parents met and agreed for the marriage. The entire cast and crew of Diya Aur Baati Hum' were present at the wedding venue on Mira Road. Aniruddh Dave, Karan Mehra and wife Nisha, Ratan Rajput and Neil Bhatt were helpful to add a whole new charm to the venue.
Deepika says her energy comes from Rohit who always motivates and encourages her. She is lucky to have married to a person like Rohit. She doesnt miss to praise her mother in law who is no less than a mother for her, Deepika feels if she is able to reach sets on right time its because of her mother in law , she is very kind and treats her like her daughter.

I would start off with praising the writers for giving us all a wonderful character named Sandhya. Sandhya is an iconic character in television industry.

She's confident and intelligent, had the courage to change the mindset of her in-laws ( a quality rarely seen in Bahus on TV) ... knows very well how to keep balance between

her IPS profession and personal life .

Sandhya as a Bahu :Usually television shows used to show woman as weak ,insulted by Mother-laws often without any support of husbands, but In sandhya I cud see a girl of today,who was bold enough to maker her mother in law realise that she can be wrong too, ofcourse that woud not have been possible without Suraj's support. I always loved the fact tht the end of every track Bhabo was proved wrong

seeking forgiveness from her daughteri in law.

Gradually She changed her mindset which was always new on television.

Sandhya as a wife : During the initial years of DABH I was not satisfied with Sandhya as a wife but considering the circumstances in which she got married to suraj

I could still connect with her and this is the beauty of her character..

.The / Transformation / journey of sandhya as a girl who only dreamt of being an IPS officer to someone who fell deeply in love with Suraj was beautiful

and now I can say she is a really good wife.

Sandhya as a mom : DABH makers have not much concentrated on this part yet , but whatever I have seen it was not bad either.

Sandhya as an IPS: This part is the best of all. I didnt imagine it to be so well portrayed by Deepika. .. From saving people out of fire to hijack etc

all tracks portrayed Sandhya IPS to perfection.

Many young girls look up to her as a symbol of inspiration. Recent Civil service exams where top 4 candidates r all girls shows how her character has changed the mindset of India. Now woman are more inclined towards having a career along with family life.

Deepika got lucky to get a chance to play a character like Sandhya .

.But is getting a chance enough?

Being a new comer and such a difficult role to portray is not easy ..Her talent , hardwork and patience helped her deliver better each passing day...I can easily say , no one could play Sandhya better than Deepika.The awards and accolades she has won so far proves how successfully she has brought life into the character of Sandhya .

Coming to her real life ,

I can see the qualities of Sandhya in Deepika too, She manages everything so well ..Sometimes I wonder how does she manage to do so much in such a short day 😆
