I don't think Akshara is closer to Naksh because he is the male child...i guess it's more because he is the first child. Akshara was always more emotionally invested in Naksh's life...Akshara just wanted a child after her first miscarriage. I don't think she cared about a boy or a girl. And when Naitik was in comma, she missed out on all the peak moments of Naksh's life because of all the Gayatri and business drama. Considering he was her first child, she obviously loved him a bit more. This has nothing to do with gender.
But true, Akshara always loved Naksh excessively ever since he was a kid, the way she scolds Naira when she is wrong, she would never scold Naksh the same way. And it's not just Akshara, the whole family was pretty much the same with Naksh. No one, apart from Naitik seemed to have realized that Naksh needs something more than all the pampering.
The show really needs to strike a balance. Instead of Naitik being the strict father and Akshara the loving mother, I would love some nice scenes between Naitik-Naksh and a scene where Akshara, and not Naitik, drives some sense into Naksh.
While I agree with you over the lack of Akshara-Naira scenes, i seriously don't think the show makers are thinking about gender inequality O.o

She is so nice and adorable and also smart and sensible. In this household it seems Akshara is showered with more love than her brother but Rajshri seems to respect all the different relations that she has so that everyone feels that they also have herattention.

Agreed. Maheshwari's are definitely the better family.
Singhanias have always been this way they pamper their kids like crazy. Remember gayatri??
Naitik akshara are both on two extremes, they either need role reversals or really REALLY need to
Go easy on the strictness and love, the balance is so missing.

I don't Naksh or naitik are always wrong, they just have different point of views but they don't seem to have the tolerance to deal with the opposing point of view & come to a conclusion.
I mean Naitiks gonna kick Naksh out really? :|
And Naksh will leave too without giving a damn about his mother who put up with his lies just for him?

Akshara & Naksh's relationship seems a bit one sided at times.. Naksh doesn't show so much affection apart frm when he needs something to be done.

I think you are going over-board in analysing the things
the 1st child on YR was a daughter---------we need to appreciate that

we need to appreciate the CVs that although Varsha and Shaurya had a daughter (and Maheswaris as well) they didnt plan for a 2nd child while Naitik-Akshara had a son yet they planned a 2nd child & it was a girl!!!

there is no discrimination on this show regarding gender--------------------this is my view

& I APPRECIATE THE SHOW FOR THAT ( although I hadnt thought of this before I read of your write-up----------Thanks for that--------------I can continue to appreciate this show)
