i think shivam' s tilak was done by co incidence to let us know that riya and shivam will be getting married and there may be grom interchange track where in place of amit shivam does the pheras with riya..

Maybe Rani bribed the pandit to say that if Riya marries Amit, Shanti devi will turn into a cockroach and that means Sarla will become a local train mein gaane wali bhikari singer because Nimmi will accidently squash the roach (dadi). No Shanti no paisa for Sarla, lol.

So Shanti Devi may agree to get Riya marry Shivam so the dowry will still come into the house(not knowing Riya will control her jaydaad once she sees Shanti and Sarla's asli roop)
