Part 3
Khushi murmured something before stirring.She snuggled into the hard pillow that was holding her.Arms tightened around her.Khushi sighed before fluttering open her eyes.The light source was coming from the fireplace,she noticed ,It was very warm.She looked down and noticed she was on the floor,on top of something.
Khushi looked up and gasped.She was lying on top of Arnav.The black duvet was covering them both.But why were they embraced? Like lovers? Khushi swallowed and looked at herself only to realize she was completely naked!
Khushi screamed.
Arnav woke up and grabbed his gun that was lying next to him "W-What!"
Khushi looked at Arnav to realize he was bare chested.She did not dare look under the covers to find out if he was clothed or not.She only assumed the latter.
"How could you!" she screamed "How dare you touch me!"
"What nonsense" Arnav grumbled rubbing his eyes "What time is it"
"Time to kill you!"
Khushi wrapped her hands around Arnav's neck and attempted to throttle him but he was strong.He easily pulled her off and held both her hands with one of his.
"Now" he said looking straight at her "What is all this about?"
"How could you" Khushi cried "I don't even know you well.How dare you touch me without my permission"
Arnav stared at her before letting go of her hands.He stood up letting go of the duvet.Khushi scrambled to grab the blanket to cover herself.She didn't dare look at Arnav in fear of what she would see.
"I am not naked" he said "Just check yourself"
Khushi bit her lip and risked a peak.She let out a breath of relief.He was wearing black track pants.
"You fell into the ocean.I fished you out and brought you to this inn.They only had a pair of track pants for me while my clothes are out to dry.So are yours,You were shivering.There wasn't a doctor for miles.The inn keeper thought I was your husband and suggested I give you body warmth.I admit I took off your clothes but I did not look.You'll have to trust me on that.Yes I admit I did touch you but with as less intimacy as I could.I may be a criminal Khushi" he said "But I am not a..." he swallowed "I would never force a woman or hurt one"
Khushi could see Arnav was trying to mask something but he was failing.He was hurt.She could see it in his eyes even though his face was stone.Khushi felt guilty.She shouldn't have accused him.She should have looked over the facts.
"Arnav I'm sor-"
When Khushi looked up he was gone.

There was a knock on the door.
Khushi got up carefully securing the duvet around her.Hoping it was Arnav she opened the door.It wasn't Arnav but somebody else.He introduced himself as the inn keeper "The couple that were occupying the room next door forgot this sari" he said "I hope this will be to your liking while your clothes dry"
Khushi nodded and said her appreciation.She took the yellow sari and put it on.At least now she could leave the room.Where was Arnav,she wondered.

Arnav preferred the quiet peace that the outside of the inn provided Inside was loud.It was a miracle he had managed to sleep last night.
Last night...
When Arnav had managed to fish Khushi out of the water she had seemed dead.He barely had made out her pulse.But when he did he gave her CPR.He didn't really have experience doing it.In fact he had almost given up hope after a couple of tries but when Khushi began gasping in splutters he knew he could save her.
The inn was the closest place he could find shelter.Even though he didn't have any money the inn keeper was kind enough to let them stay for the night.
Arnav snorted.Kindness.There were very few people who were kind.In fact he doubted there was such thing anymore.
Arnav sighed,The inn keeper had informed him there was no doctor for miles.Thinking he was Khushi's husband the inn keeper told him a good idea was to give her body warmth.
When Arnav had made it in the room with Khushi in his arms he did not turn on the light.He locked the door and took off his clothes.He wore the track pants the keeper offered him.Arnav had blindly looked for Khushi in the dark and took off her clothes trying to make as less contact with her skin as he could.
He had grabbed the duvet and wrapped it around them and pulled Khushi's back to his front.He had grabbed the matches box and lit one throwing it in the fireplace.
The light the fire had given gave Khushi's face a different kind of shine which was hard not to stare at.He had to admit it.She was beautiful.
Arnav shook his head.He needed to get his head straight.He had to deliver Khushi to Shashi and tell Shashi to give the responsibility of his daughter to somebody else.Arnav didn't care how beautiful she was.She was a whole load of trouble.
"Arnav?"
Arnav turned around.He frowned at Khushi "What are you doing here?"
"I was looking for you" she said honestly.
"Why?"
"I wanted to say I'm sorry"
Arnav raised a brow "Sorry?"
"I know I hurt your feelings"
Arnav scoffed "What do you take me for? A 2 year old girl?"
Khushi shook her head "No but even adults have feelings that can be hurt"
"Whatever"
Khushi came closer to him.Arnav looked around.Why the heck was she walking towards him?
When Khushi was barely a foot away from him she smiled.She raised herself on her toes and kissed his cheek "Thank you" she whispered.
Arnav sucked in a breath.He wasn't so familiar with the female kind.His co-workers,even NK,had mistresses and all that but not Arnav.The gang had even thought him to be gay.
Arnav swallowed and felt the cheek Khushi had kissed turn slightly warm.He could only hope it wasn't pink or worse red "W-What was that for?"
She smiled "You figure it out"
With that said she went back inside the inn leaving a jaw dropped Arnav staring after her.

Khushi bit her lip.What was she doing? Did she actually just flirt with him? A small blush adorned her cheeks.She shook her head.He was a criminal.He was-
Wait a second.
When that gang had attacked them they had got on a train.They jumped off that train barely halfway.Where were they?
A hand gripped her elbow.She let out a squeal of surprise before realizing it was just Arnav "We have to leave" he said gruffly.
She frowned "Why?"
"We over stayed our time"
"But-"
"Now"
Khushi didn't argue.His tone said it all.End of discussion.

Khushi didn't know where they were,She could bet Arnav didn't either.
"Where are we going?" she asked anyways.
"Back to that train station"
"Do you know the way?"
"No" he said sarcastically "I am just leading you on hoping you'll get lost"
Khushi frowned "Why have you been with me all this time anyways? It's obvious you don't like me"
Arnav bit his tongue to refrain from telling her that he did like her.Though not in a way he would like to express.
"Because you are my duty" he stuck with "If anything happens to you Shashi will have my head"
Khushi frowned more making Arnav's hands twitch to touch her lips "How did you meet my dad?"
That question snapped Arnav's patience "Will you stop talking! I am trying to concentrate"
"Concentrate on what?" she asked innocently.
"Argh!" Arnav groaned "Is there no end to this"
"End to what?"
Arnav covered Khushi's mouth with his hand "Shut up.No more questions"
Arnav took a step back in disgust when Khushi licked his hand.He wiped his hand on his pants and glared at her.
Khushi grinned.She was loving this trip.
