Chapter Seventeen.
Pacing to and fro, she thought of the undesired, uncertain situation she was to deal with. It wasn't a big thing. It never was before. But today she felt as though she was fighting a battle. As though she was to make a choice, yet she had none.
Tired of her pacing, she crawled on the bed. Falling back at the head rest, spreading her legs straight, she tried to ease her nerves. Closing her eyes, she breathed evenly wanting to calmly think over the entire situation.
Was there really a way? She thought.
Maybe not!
Her hands reached the switch of the side lamp. Up-down, up-down! Her fingers played with it. For a moment the room would be well lit and the other embraced with darkness. Darkness! It so resembled her state. She was sulking.
"Will you stop that thing?" Emerged a highly irritated voice. Grabbing all her attention to the owner of the voice.
She looked at the tiny soul that peeped through the pillow over his head, the blanket pulled over his shoulder. A weird look took over her. It was summers, Hot summers. People hardly wore anything, especially the males. But here he was covered as though witnessing the most awful winters As though it was icy cold. Undoubtedly he was her brother. Weird yet adorable. Nimish!
"Stop playing with the switch. People sleep at night times, unlike you." He hid his face under the pillow irked with her behaviour. He had a doubt of her brain being damaged. She didn't sleep most of the times and when she did, she would wake up murmuring some nuisance. Either ways she wasn't letting others sleep as well. And now he felt assured that she needed a medical check up soon.
She pulled her hands, making sure that they don't run into the other direction. Sitting still in the darkness, her eyes not willing to spare a blink even, And her mind! It kept rotating.
It wasn't new. Doing it wasn't. Then why she was facing the difficulty today, she thought. And the answer was a plainly simple. Manik! He was being the reason for every damn thing that happened to her these days.
Now when she is to leave the place, she feels all reluctant. Because he hadn't arrived, yet. She hadn't seen him for days. And she so badly wanted to.
Maybe they weren't meant to be, she tried to reason though her heart denied to agree. Chanting the thing again and again, she tried consoling herself. But whom was she fooling, she knew it was difficult.
Destiny plays its game making things tougher for her.
