TOI:Real daughter to play Kavita Ghais on-screen daughter

Actress Kavita Ghai aka Piyali in Siddharth Kumar Tewary's 'Manmarziyaan' can't stop beaming from ear to ear. Reason: The makers have roped in her real daughter to play her daughter in the show.

Kavita says, "My elder daughter Orvana had auditioned for the role before the shooting commenced. Unfortunately, she couldn't bag it and another actress (Garima Jain) was signed on. And now, almost after a year when it was time to introduce that particular track, the said actress wasn't available. My daughter being the second choice, was called overnight and she took the first flight from Delhi. I couldn't sleep the whole night out of excitement. It still feels unreal to me."



The two are yet to share screen space and the doting mother couldn't have been more patient. "On her first day of the shoot, I hid behind the curtain as I didn't want to make her nervous. And as they say, once a mother always a mother, so, on the set too, I was busy taking care of her clothes, makeup, hairdo and screaming to make her eat sandwiches. It was like going back to her school days."
