KK nods his head not understanding Roshni's meaning, Roshni smiles at KK not understanding her, both continue to look at the stars not realising when the party ended and the rest of the families come outside and break them out of their trances. Aryan looks at KK and Roshni and makes it a point to make some enquiries with both of them
Part 7
Aryan throws his jacket onto the chair and flops onto his bed, he closes his eyes and lays his head back, he thinks back to the night and how everyone had so much fun, he smiles then remembers KK and Roshni. He gets up and goes to Roshni's room, he knocks on the door then peeks inside and sees Roshni sitting in bed reading, he clears his throat and Roshni looks up
R - hey bhai, come on in
Aryan comes inside and closes the door, he then sits by Roshni on her bed, she puts her book down and gives him her attention
Ar - did you have a good time tonight?
R - yeah bhai, it was fun, everyone had so much fun
Ar - yeah we did....Roshni, I want to ask you something.....you won't lie to me will you?
R - why would I lie to you? go ahead
Aryan smiles, he takes Roshni's hand in his, shuffles in his place to sit properly before breathing deeply, Roshni giggles
R - bhai hurry up
Ar - yeah ok.....so what happened while you and KK were outside?
R - nothing bhai, we just....sat and talked for a while then stared at the night sky
Ar - there's nothing...erm....going on between you two right?
Roshni breathes deeply and looks to the ceiling before shaking her head
R - no....there's not
Aryan nods his head and watches her reaction
Ar - you seem....disappointed.....Rosh....do you have feelings for him?
Roshni gulps, shifts in her bed and looks elsewhere
R - no why would you think that?
Aryan moves forward and makes Roshni face him
Ar - at least look at me while you're answering....do you?
Roshni bites her bottom lip then hugs Aryan and closes her eyes
R - its complicated bhai
Ar - complicated how? Roshni tell me
R - I like him.....
Aryan pulls Roshni off him and looks at her, she lowers her gaze but Aryan lifts her head up
R - but...you know what he's like bhai, always changing girlfriends, and you've seen the types of girls he goes out with....he doesn't like me
Ar - you don't know that
R - whatever...it's true
Ar - you should tell him how you feel.....
R - no!
Ar - why not?
R - because he's my best friend besides Ria, and if I tell him my feelings and he doesn't feel the same way then our friendship could break.....I don't want that to happen
Ar - ok.....how about..I'll talk to him...
R - no bhai please
Ar - listen....I'll talk to him and see how he feels, I won't tell him how you feel
R - are you sure?
Ar - yes
Roshni breathes deeply again and nods her head
R - that's ok then
Ar - ok....I'll leave you to your reading
R - ok, goodnight bhai
Ar - goodnight
Aryan gets off the bed, Roshni picks up her book and begins to read, Aryan kisses her forehead before leaving. Roshni waits until he's gone before putting her book down
R (thinks) - great, now how will I sleep? all night I'll be thinking about KK's answer to bhai
Roshni huffs and lies down and shuts the light off before covering herself with her duvet. The next morning Aryan parks his car in the Khanna Mansion driveway then goes inside, he meets Angad in the hallway
A - Aryan, this early?
Ar - yeah chachu....I just had some work with KK, is he awake?
A - I doubt it but you can go wake him up
Ar - cool, where's Karan?
A - in the garage working on his car
Ar - ok then, talk to you in a while chachu
Aryan looks at the stairs then decides he'll speak to KK after and goes to the garage where Karan is looking under the hood of his car, Aryan chuckles and clears his throat, Karan looks up
Kar - hey dude
Ar - hey..I wasn't aware you knew what the inside of a car looked like
Kar - very funny....
Ar - I wasn't joking, anyways, what's the car like?
Kar - a load of crap, the battery needs replacing, it needs new brakes, new tyres, a new stereo system, oil needs changing....
Ar - ok I get the point, are you going to fix it?
Kar - you know me Aryan.....I don't know the first thing about fixing cars, and I would ask KK but he will say he needs to fix his bike
Aryan scratches his chin
Ar - that's quite a problem
Kar - wait.....I have an idea
Ar - what?
Kar - maybe....my good friend will help fix the car
Karan grins at Aryan who shakes his head and steps back, Karan grabs his arm before he can run off
Kar - please!!!!
Ar - but....
Kar - please.....please...
Ar - fine....but not today, I'll look at it tomorrow
Kar - great
Aryan pats Karan's back then leaves the garage and heads upstairs, he barges into KK's room where KK is still asleep, Aryan picks up a pillow from Karan's bed and smacks it on KK. KK jerks up, rubs his eyes and glares at Aryan
Ar - good morning...
KK - why did you wake me up?
Ar - because I need to talk to you, now get your lazy butt up and get into the bathroom now
Aryan pulls KK up and shoves him into the bathroom, KK curses him from inside but Aryan just grins. KK comes out of the bathroom wearing a towel around his waist and another towel around his neck, he throws the towel on his neck at Aryan then grabs a shirt and puts it on, he then takes the other towel off revealing a pair of black boxer shorts and throws it at Aryan again and puts on a pair of jeans, he looks at himself in his mirror and shrugs his shoulders then jumps onto the bed
KK - what's up?
Ar - not here, come with me
KK follows Aryan out of the room, both go downstairs, KK rushes into the kitchen and grabs a quick bite to eat, he kisses Kripa on her cheek
KK - I'm going out with Aryan, will be back later
K - ok
KK greets Angad then rushes out with Aryan, both get into Aryan's car and Aryan drives them to the park, Aryan gets out a basketball from his car and the two head out to the basketball courts for a quick play about. While playing....
KK - so what's on your mind bruv?
Ar - you..and my sister
KK looks at Aryan before shooting the bal into the hoop, he picks up the ball and holds it in his hands
KK - what do you mean?
Aryan sits on the bench, KK jogs up to him and sits next to him
KK - dude tell me
Ar - I saw you guys together after the party
KK - so?
Ar - so, I want to know how you feel about her?
KK - what as in.....as in more than a friend?
Ar - exactly
KK - Roshni's one of my best friends dude, that's it, I care for her a lot because I've grown up with her and she's your sister. I get along with her because she practically knows me inside out, but that's it
Ar - what you're saying is....
KK - I see her as a friend, nothing more, nothing less. The last thing I want to do is hurt her by going out with her, now come lets play some more
Aryan nods his head, KK goes ahead to do some practice shooting, Aryan stays back for a while thinking of what to do, he decides to stay out of it and let nature take its course, and runs up and snatches the ball from KK and jumps up and shoots it into the hoop, the two continue to play for an hour or so. After they've finished playing Aryan drops KK off then goes home. He finds Roshni in the kitchen with Kashish, he hugs Kashish from behind and kisses her cheek
Ka - ugh get off me, you dirty boy
Ar - ma that's not nice
Ka - whatever, now go shower
Ar - ok mother
Aryan kisses her cheek again and lets her go, he glances at Roshni and taps her on her shoulder, Roshni looks at him and gives him a what's-up-look, he leans forward and whispers
Ar - my room, 10 minutes
Roshni nods her head and Aryan goes off to have his shower. 10 minutes later Roshni is sitting in Aryan's room on his bed waiting for him to get out of the shower, once he's out she glances his way
R - bhai, what's the matter?
Aryan grabs a chair and sits opposite her
Ar - I spoke to KK today
R - you did? and?
Ar - you were right, he only considers you as a friend, but he cares for you a lot
R - yeah I thought so
Ar - don't look so sad ok, you never know what the future holds
R - come on bhai, Kunal Khanna will never fall in love with a girl like me
Roshni gets up to leave but Aryan holds her back
Ar - wait....you're in love with him?
R - erm.....
Ar - I thought you said you just liked him, I figured it would be a harmless crush but you're in love with him?
R - yeah bhai.....for as long as I can remember
Aryan frowns and hugs her, he kisses her forehead
Ar - its best you not think about him for a while, I don't want to see you get hurt
R - don't worry bhai, I've coped this long, I can cope longer
She kisses his cheek and leaves, Aryan feels sad, he's sitting thinking when Sujal comes into the room
S - Aryan
Ar - yeah dad?
S - Karan called, something about his car
Ar - ok, I'll call him later
S - ok
Sujal turns to leave
Ar - dad
S - yeah?
Ar - what would you do if.....nah forget it
Sujal sits on the bed
S - tell me
Ar - its stupid
S - Aryan...
Ar - ok, suppose....you're my age
S - yeah
Ar - and you're in love with someone.....but they don't love you back, what would you do?
S - well you're probably aware that your mother never had a liking for me when we first met but I won her over
Ar - how?
S - I annoyed the heck out of her and slowly she began to like me annoying her......Aryan is there someone.....in your....
Ar - NO! I mean no...nothing like that
S - then why did you ask?
Ar - for a friend, erm you know...Rohit
S - Rohit......oh I see, well tell Rohit to leave things be and if him and this girl are meant for each other
Ar (carelessly) - its a guy
S - ok....him and this guy...
Aryan realises what he's said and shakes his head
Ar - no its a girl
S - positive? you sure she's not inbetween?
Ar - no dad, she's a girl
S - well if they're meant to be then they'll end up together, if not then they won't
Ar - ok dad
Sujal looks at Aryan then leaves the room, he bumps into Kashish outside the room, she sees him looking puzzled
Ka - Sujal, what's wrong?
S - our son has some strange friends
Ka - huh?
S - never mind
Sujal walks off while Kashish looks confused. The next day Aryan is at the Khanna Mansion working on Karan's car, he's lying under the car when he hears Ria's voice outside the door with Karan. Aryan grins to himself and gets out from underneath the car, he gets the oil can and spills some oil on the floor in front of the door, he then quickly gets under the car and watches for the fun. After a while he hears someone yelling in pain, and he smiles to himself
Ri - hey Aryan
Aryan's head jerks to the side as he sees Ria grinning at him, he gets confused and gets out from underneath the car and looks at Ria
Ar - but you're meant to be....
Ri - to be?
Ar - nothing..so who....
Aryan looks at the door and finds Kripa on the floor holding her foot
Ar (mumbles) - oh s***
Aryan rushes to Kripa
Ar - chachi, you ok?
K - does it look like I'm ok? what's this oil doing on the floor?
Ri - yes Aryan, what's the oil doing on the floor?
Ar - I erm...I was getting it for the car, and it must have spilt
K - well don't just look at me, help me up
Ar - yeah sure
Aryan holds Kripa's hands and helps her up then leads her outside, he glances behind him and sees Ria laughing, he scowls and takes Kripa into the living room, he helps her sit on the sofa when Angad comes
A - Kripa? what happened?
Ar - chachi fell in the garage
A - fell? how?
K - this idiot spilt oil on the floor
Ar - it was an accident, I never planned it or anything...
A - yeah ok, Karan go get the first aid kit for your mom
Kar - ok dad
Ar - I better go back to the garage and clean up the oil so no one else falls
A - yeah, you go do that
Aryan apologises to Kripa then runs off to the garage and in hastiness he forgets the oil and slips on the floor himself, he hears Ria laughing, he looks up at her
Ar - what are you laughing at? give me a hand
Ri - fine
Ria puts her hand out and Aryan holds it and pulls her to the floor while he gets up, he looks around
Ar - where did she go?
Ri - down here
Aryan glances down and finds Ria covered in oil, Aryan bursts out laughing
Ar - revenge is sweet
Ri - whatever, help me up or I'll tell Kripa aunty that you spilt the oil on purpose to make me fall down
Ar - blackmailer
Aryan grabs Ria's hand and pulls her up, she looks at her clothes and glares at him
Ri - you ruined my clothes!
Ar - really? I never noticed
Ri - you're such a moron!
Ar - why thank you....you should go home and get changed, before someone sees you
Ri - dad dropped me off here, so now you have to take me
Ar - you crazy? I ain't letting you sit in my car covered in oil
Ri - fine.....Kripa aunty!!!!
Ar - Ria shut up, it won't work this time
Ri - Kripa aunty!!!!!
Ar - how will she come? she's hurt her foot remember?
Ri - silly me, why didn't I think of that first
Ar - wow for the first time you're being honest....you are silly
Ri - Aryan I'm going to kill you
Ar - with what?
Ria reaches out and picks something up
Ri - with this thing.....
Aryan grins
Ar - you're going to kill me with...a toilet brush?
Ri - huh? eww!!!!
Ria drops the toilet brush and begins wiping her hands on Aryan's shirt
Ar - hey! watch it
Ri - like your clothes are clean
Ar - yeah and yours are spotless
Ri - oh just shut up!
Ar - make me
Ri - fine I will
Ria steps forward and slips on the oil spill and falls straight into Aryan's arms, Aryan forgets everything around him and stares at Ria while she tries to get off him, she catches him staring and glares
Ri - I'll send you a picture, it will last longer
Ar - huh?
Ria looks at him weirdly and gets off him while digging her elbow into his stomach, Aryan groans in pain then gets up, Ria looks at him
Ri - why were you staring at me?
Ar - who was staring? I wasn't staring
Ri - yes you were, you were staring at me
Ar - no I wasn't
Ri - yes you were
Ar - ok I admit it I was staring....
Ria blushes while Aryan grins
Ar - at that smudge of oil on your face....ugh disgusting
Ria's mouth drops open and she tries to think of a comeback but instead she stomps on his foot and heads for the door, before exiting she looks at herself in the mirror then scowls at Aryan and storms off while Aryan laughs to himself, he grabs a cloth and cleans the oil spill before anyone else slips.
