So what do you think guys? I think the plot's progressing pretty nicely!
The things I liked today:
Zilbahar- Anar: This mother-daughter duo are genuinely nice people. Any other mother in Zil's place might have taken advantage of the situation to push her daughter forward to marry the future Shahenshah. Very few people can resist that temptation regardless of the risks involved.
Jo-Anar: I liked the determination and firmness that Jo exhibited in her conversation with Anar and Anar's response. I don't know if Jo has any plan up her sleeve or if she is just gauging the genuineness of Anar's love for Salim. What ever it may be she certainly got the answer she was looking for.
Akbar- AF: Good going Mr Fazal! Pack Anar off and save the day. Nice! I like Abul Fazal's character a lot. He definitely has that expression of fawning admiration on his face for Akbar which I think would have been the case with the real one too. 😃
Jo-Akbar: The first one where Akbar is in no mood to listen to any of Jo's explainations regarding Salim's love.
The second one at the "Mahurat determining ceremony": this one was in a way very like a normal couple even in this day and age. When it comes to making the kids do something unpleasant the dads always pass the buck onto the moms.😆 So it is Jo's responsibility to make sure that Salim is present at the Jashn.😔
And of course the last one in Jo's room. I liked how Akbar understands Jo's mental state and tries to console her. The contrast between the Shahenshah and the husband.
I know this track is supposed to be fictional but it does bring out the thoughts/opinions the real Akbar might have had concerning family/birth status and marriage. Maybe the people who are more well versed with the real one can chime in here.

Great analysis ⭐️
Jo is always a little selfish and biased towards salim which irks me 🥱 good thing jalal never listens to her when it comes to salim
akbar has so many wives why can't salim marry both, ofcorx anar issues r valid but atleast salim can think of marrying both🥱
Im enjoying jalal completely in this track

Another incisive analysis. Thank you.

The track is going fine. For the first time this year we are seeing a situation which is not hard to imagine historically(though Anarkali never existed). It helps that the principal characters are behaving normally and are not going over the top, they really look royal.

As I said earlier, Jalal is the crux, if he behaves in a manner we expect than all is well. Today once again he gave an understated but compelling performance.

But all good things come in small packages. The makers of the serial know that Jodha or Jalal focused tracks work, nothing else, the Laboni track proved it conclusively. They cannot stretch this track because there are too many characters in this track which have not won the confidence of the audience and lack the acting chops.

Let us see what happens tomorrow.

I am glad they are keeping the focus on Jo and Akbar with Sanar on the side. With RT and PS we can digest even tracks like Laboni and this track is turning out to be way better than the last one.
Yes, RT was very good today. His expressions are always right on the money.

Hi Devki, nice review. This week we r getting some really nice episodes with enough drama. For once most of the characters r behaving royally. when I read about this track, I was a bit skeptical about the portrayal of AKBAR as in recent times they r showing him like a majnu r shouting unnecessarily. Not in a royal way. But so far in this track they r showing him like a true emperor. for which am happy. no OTT stuff at all. u can easily connect to him. more realistic. He is behaving like a 16th century emperor not 21st century HR activist. But who kami poori karne keliye toh hamari JO Begum hai naa😆 she is behaving like a21st century HR activist lecturing her emperor husband about equality among subjects instead of lecturing her son. I am really pissed off with her today. She went to ANAR instead of calling her to her royal chambers n even she is praising her. she is advocating the marriage of a crown prince n a rakaasa. What is the enemity with us to the CVs? why can't they show for once a real MEH who stood by her hubby in trying to bring back their wayward son? I really expected her to be like this. but no we r not that lucky it seems. let us wait n watch. Real AK is a good father. As of my knowledge of history, all I can say is SA is wayward n fickle minded person when comes to love n lust. But AK always accepted his affairs n allowed his son to marry any girl who took SA's fancy. Even Maanbai was also SA's choice only. He married all types of girls like from his relatives n cousins, royals n commoners.
