Radhika kept spooning sugar into her steaming cup of tea.One spoon,two spoons,three spoons,four spoons,and she was going for the fifth spoon when a male hand stopped her,and a soft chuckle broke into her thoughtful reverie.
"Chashni,just because you are chashni,does it mean you have to make your tea into chashni too?!" The smiling voice asked making her blink and look at the source of the voice.
"Neil..I-.."She stared down her at the tea cup now almost filled to the brim,due to the huge amount of sugar she had put in it."I just thought I needed the extra sugar for the energy.."She lied as she flushed in embarrassment and stirred her tea,spilling some of it on the saucer in the process.
Her thoughts were not the type to be shared with her friends.Not yet at least.She was treading dangerous waters,she knew.
"Chashni..?"Radhika was forced to look up at those smiling yet knowing clear eyes."You don't have to lie.But when you are ready to share,I'm here to listen.Always.Don't forget that..And change that cup of tea.You are going to have diabetes if you have so much sweet!"He said with a teasing chuckle,as he winked at her and left the office cabin,where they had been working on an upcoming project work together.
After he left,Radhika stared at her brimming tea cup and sighed loudly.There was no point in thinking about last Friday night.No point in thinking if He remembered what had happened at the beach at all.He had been a drunken stupor,and had most likely been unaware of his own actions.
He had not contacted her the entire weekend,so it was clear,that all that had happened was just a drunk behavior of a man,who had really no interest. No real interest in her or anything related to her.And he even should not be having interest too! Not in her at least!
Radhika felt the same guilt take over her senses,when the reality hit her once again.The same guilt and fear that had kept her away from him after that night he had kissed her when they were back from Lonavla.She had done her best to forget the incident.Done her way best to make herself do everything that was possible to avoid him the next day,but all to no avail!He had to carry her to his car,and maker her heart race,and nearly kiss her again!That night she had not been able to sleep a bit.And then she had decided,that for Sam's sake she would keep herself away from him.Arjun sir was Sam's love interest,and she,Radhika Mishra ahd a family duty to maintain,and have been already engaged to someone.An arrangement about which she neither wanted to think,or wonder about at the moment,but still she knew Arjun Mehra was out of bounds for her,and she was out of bounds for him!It was plain and simple as that!
So that is what she had done.Stayed away.She ensured he did not got to see a blink of her,and avoided every possible occasion that arose,where she might even come face to face with him accidentally.
It was another matter that while doing so,she herself could not help thinking about him,and had felt restless and sometimes wondered if he had truly changed and loved Samaira now.She even had forced herself to believe Arjun sir had kissed her that night thinking she was Sam.The thought itself made her heart give a painful squeeze,and she suddenly felt a deep ache growing within her.And the rest of her times was spent in reinforcing the thought,as she kept herself busy 24/7 doing the silliest things to keep her mind off him.
As a result the tiny apartment she and Sam shared was now squeaky clean.All of her and Sam's clothes were now freshly handwashed and ironed by her,and even Sam was impressed by her tidiness of late.
But that was all Sam had noticed.Radhika could not help but wonder,why Sam looked so distracted since she returned from Khandala.As far as she knew,things were now fixed between her and Arjun sir,but still she seemed distant lately.And Radhika was terrified of asking.Wondering and even almost sure that she herself was the cause of pain of her friend.
But yesterday Sam had mentioned something about Neil in a small voice.Something like Neil was avoiding her,but when Radhika had asked her to repeat what she had said,Sam had put on a bright smile.A smile that just meant she was hiding her feelings.And before Radhika could ask anything,she had told her she had to leave for a new project to Delhi,and was gone in no time.
Even today Radhika had studied Neil initially wondering if things were alright between him and Sam,when Neil getting her studying gaze,had distracted her with the project.And soon after that Radhika herself had become lost in that rotten man's thoughts..
But now as she thought about him,the old guilt took over again. Like it had tormented her that night after she had returned home after laying a drunk semi-conscious Arjun on his bed,back at his home.She had taken the help of the taxi driver,who was a nice old man, to get him there.
But how she had been torturing herself thinking how she could behave so wantonly!He had been drunk,but she was in her senses!How could she forget,and..Just how could she?!How could she be thinking of him?!This was completely not done!He was almost engaged to her best friend,and she just could not think of him like this!!!This was not done at all!!!Guilt and remorse took over her once again,when she thought of her best friend Samaira Khanna.
And vehemently furious with herself,she strode up to the tea table at the corner of the room, and threw the too sugary tea down the basin,while she got a fresh steaming cup of tea from the thermos.She was here to work!An that was all she was gonna concentrate on only!Nothing more and nothing less!And certainly not think about Mr. Too Good Arjun Mehra!!!
Radhika irked at herself,standing by the window overlooking the busy street,was just about to take a sip from the tea,when a sudden noise from behind her made her whirl around.
"OUCH!!!"She gasped out,as hot tea scalded her forefinger,before she could even see who had entered the cabin.
But as she was about to blow on her finger by putting away the tea cup,she was stunned to silence when a familiar tall figure was by her side in seconds,and had taken her scalded finger in his hand,and had taken it in his mouth to suck on it and ease the stinging pain.
The pain left alright.She was electrocuted by a frsh pamg of something hot and uncontrollable.And Radhika nearly felt her knees give away too,as replacing the pain a hot current passed through her body,and the suckling was making her insides melt,and she was forced to close her eyes,least he could read the feelings in her eyes.As her insides seemd to be burning with a hot lethal desire,she was trying her hardest to contain.
Seconds passed to minutes,and he had finally took her finger out from his mouth and blowing gently on it.And finally when he looked at her,Radhika was left speechless the clear worry she saw in them,and that also for a simple thing as-..
"Why do you always have to be so careless?Couldn't you be more careful?!!"He seethed out through gritted teeth.Radhika could only starea thim with confused curious eyes,when he met herand held her for a few seconds that seemed to stretch longer.
And in the next instant his indifferent mask was on again,as he seemed to notice her observant and shocked look.He let her hand go quickly but gently,and took a step back looking at everywhere in the cabin but her.
Radhika did not get the time to gather her wits about or wonder what he was going to do next,when he suddenly whirled around and left the cabin within seconds just like he had come.And the rest of the day Radhika had a hard time trying to get him out of her mind again.,but thanks to him she could stay out of his path more now,since he also seemed to be avoiding her.
It was the late night project work,that she ahd taken up to get him off her mind and keep herself busy in whatever way possible,was the reason she was back to square 1.
She was searching for her mobile phone in her bag to place a call back home,when she entered the elevator.
CLINK!!!
The door had closed and she looked up to press the groundfloor button,when she realized it was already being pressed by Him!She gave up her search of the phone instantly and nearly moaned out loud in frustration.Not Arjun sir again!
Why did she always end up in such situations!And always with this man!!!The small space in the enclosed elevator seemed to be buzzing with electricity that both of them seemed to be acting to overlook.But it was getting uncomfortable as both looked the other way,and waited for the elevator to end its seemingly never ending journey.
THUMP!!!CLANG!!!
Radhika nearly lost her balance as the lift suddenly came to a halt!And in the next moment before she could understand what it was about all the lights went out in the lift drowning them in utter bleak darkness.
"What is happening?"She whispered out,trying hard to see through the utter crazy darkness.
A choking fear was taking over her as she kept looking for the phone she had been looking for earlier,fear taking the better of her.
Arjun sir seemed to be moving to,but far calmly than her.A small light came on in the stark darkness,as he checked his phone for something.
Then he walked towards the phone in the elevator and tried dialing.
"DAMN!!!No network and now this!!!"He gritted out,as he slammed the phone back on its cradle.
Radhika could not find her phone at all,and she closed her eyes,trying ot breathe in and breathe out slowly,like dadaji had taught her to do in tense situations.
"Calm..Calm Radhika!It's gonna be alright..Just RELAX!!!"She reassured herself aloud,as she tried to think of everything but the enclosed claustrophobic tiny space she was locked in utter darkness in.
She could feel her voice breaking,as she tried to hold her fear.And just when she thought she had relaxed enough,the elevator gave a huge horrible jerk,and she screamed out loud as it seemed to be falling downwards!!!
This was the end!!!They were going to die!!!They were both going to die!!!
WHIRRR!!!!!!THUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When suddenly the lift came to a stop again,Radhika had fallen on the lift floor and had started sobbing.She just could not hold back the fear,clawing at her,and nor could she could she look out into utter bleak darkness.
And just when she knew all was over,she felt a strong male body move towards hers.She did not protest,when those strong arms pulled her into a strong embrace,as he sat beside her on the floor.He made her rest her head against his broad chest,close against his beating heart,as his hand hesitantly at first,then with more confidence started caressing her head.
"It's alright..Don't worry.It's gonna be fine..Shhhshhh!"He whispered in a soft caring voice,that made her sob louder into his chest.
He went still as she started sobbing louder for a second or two.And then,his embrace tightened.
"Don't cry.."He whispered in a tender acing pain filled voice,that made Radhika cry more.
"Please don't cry..Please.."He said brokenly,caressing her back,as she soaked his shirt with her tears.He took in a loud ragged breath."Radhika..You are breaking me..It hurts to see you like this..Please..Don't..Cry.."He whispered in an almost completely broken voice,and this time Radhika tried her best to stop her tears.He really sounded broken.And somehow she did not want that.
Her sobs ended up in shudders as she tried to hold them back,and eventually stopped,as she took in a shattered breath,and tried to move a bit away from him.Because just after her initial fear had passed,she was now feeling a warmth stealing into her body due to his proximity,and a new fear was setting in.She should be keeping herself away from him.It was one thing when he was drunk,and another when they were both in their senses.She had to think about-..
"Don't..!"He whispered huskily suddenly,not letting her move away from him.
And the next moment,before she could understand what he was about to do,he had pulled her onto his lap,so that she now sat sideways on it.Breathing heavily,but unable to see him in the utter darkness,but only his outline,as her eyes had adjusted a bit to the darkness,she looked up at him..
"Sir,what-.."
"Shhhshhh!Just be quiet,for sometime Radhika.."He whispered huskily from only inches above from her.
And Radhika went quiet,as his warm moist breath fanned her face and lips,making her hot flushed skin tingle..Hot sparks flew through her entire body,as he slowly nuzzled her soft burning cheeks.
This is not right!Someone seemed to warn out from the back of her mind once again,but Radhika did not have the power to hold on to it.She was utterly hopelessly and undeniably helpless in the cascading need she felt within her,that always evoked by,and always for the same person.The person,now holding her on his lap,and making her burn up from inside to out.
His hands massaged her slender waist and taut back,kneading her muscles to relax and lean onto him as his warm moist lips now caressed her soft scented neck,nearly making her moan out.She almost knew it was a loosing battle,almost knew she could not fight for much longer the heat he was arousing in her.But still she tried to..
She tried to move herself off his lap by wriggling a bit,and then gasped out,as the only made him groan.Her eyes rounded with the realization,that she could actually feel how much aroused he was just by sitting on his lap.This was not right at all-..
"Damn girl!Don't move like that!Do you want to kill me or what?"He groaned out huskily,as he pulled her tighter into his embrace.His mouth was on her throat now,suckling the soft skin there,as his hands looked for the bottom of her kurti,and Radhika was helpless with the burst of hot pleasure wreaking havoc through her system,as she breathed hard and fast,her heart ready to burst.
An audible loud satisfied sigh left his lips,as he finally found the bottom of her short kurti and his hot rough hand was still inside it caressing the soft naked skin of her back,waist and stomach..
Butterflies,worms and even her entire organ system seemed to be shaking with the feverish need he was building up within her,and to add to that,his hot lips now suckling on a sensitive earlobe was not helping much either.She held tight onto his neck,her nails digging hard onto his neck muscles as she gasped at the caresses.
Radhika knew she was going to die any moment soon,when suddenly the elevator's phone started ringing.
With a loud gasp,she was about to move herself away from him,when his hand stopped her.
"Let me handle this."He said in a husky out of breath voice,and gently made her sit on the floor while he stumbled in the darkness towards the ringing phone.He cleared his voice before picking it up.
"Hello?Yes?"A slight pause followed.
"We are two people.Okay.Right.Please do that.Thank you."He kept the phone on the cradle with a resounding thud.
"Ummm..They'll be opening the door in ten minutes..We should..Ummm..Be ready to get out.."He said in an awkward voice,still standing where he was.
And Radhika taking the cue quickly got to her feet,and nearly stumbled in her hurry,and also because her legs still felt like jelly after the storm he had evoked in her.He was beside her ins seconds,holding her steady,and the moment he touched her another jolt passed through her body.
Radhika looked up at somewhere his face should be,thankful for the darkness first time,and wondered in vain..What was about this man,that she was so pulled towards him..?
Minutes passed as they stood like that.Arjun sir holding her close to his body in the darkness.Her back leaning against him,where he held her by the waist and hand..Both of their mingled breathing faster and louder than normal.Both of them living the moment..Both maybe wanting it not to end..
THUD!!!
They let go,and moved apart as the outer world came in their dark cocoon.
"Sir,madam,move away please.We are opening the door."A male voice said,as in the next instant the door was pulled open.
They were both out of the elevator in no time.And the light from the lobby nearly blinded her,as Radhika saw Neil walking upto her with a glad smile along with Teji,and then she looked back at Arjun Mehra,who stood alone looking on at her.Radhika held his gaze,not ready to look away yet,as there was something vulnerable in his expression for the first time..As if he had just let her see another new layer of his soul..
They were almost upto her now,when Radhika blinked away a stray tear,thousands questions tearing at her mind,as she finally looked away from him to look and smile at her friends.But the only thought in her mind was..
Arjun sir,what is it about you,why am I so Fatally ATTRACTED To YOU..?????
