I don't think Kabir is realising ananya's love. He is upset she broke her friendship with him. he is upset she misunderstood him not able to care for relationships. He is upset because she believe what world tells about his character.
Same time his mind goes back to Ronies' confession of love and scene of Ananya hugging him. he won't have cared to think about it if he didn't hear those thanks you from Ronie saying his decision would be same like Navdeep if something happens ot ananya.
His mind won't have gone this much confusion if she refused his comfort and didn't spend time with Ronie.

In his heart he had all these confusion. even then deep inside his heart he believed he can sort out things and understand her heart of feeling by expressing his heart.

He rushed to office from singapoer only to see her. his dream came down when he heard her saying losing everyone because of him. he decided to stay away from her for her happiness. he is still not aware of her love towards him. he thinks she is loving Ronie and because of her friendship with Womanizer Kabir, she and Ronie has some problem.

In staircase scene, he is totally lost in her. when Ronie came, he stepped back accepting his words and nodded with his head. He feels his love for Ananya is one sided.

I really doubt, he will understand her love through her confession using Nalini's interview, unless she uses his name. He will mistake her confession is for ronie.

With so much confusion in his mind, his past is also pulling him back.

He understands her eyes at times, but he didn't accept it in his heart because things around them are not in favour of them. as he said in JPM 'what we see and what we hear are different'

He won't be able to come to any conclusion until he hears her heart out. they have the habit of talking the way of knocking others down. this should be stopped. they should have heart to heart talk in a very calm environment. Someone has to trigger that situation. Anurag can be a person to put them into such situation.

As I've stated before in quite some posts kabir is an enigma. No one can predict exactly how he'll react when he realizes that Ananya loves him and not Ronnie.

He may want to back off but I feel if he decides to do that Tarini will definitely Drum some sense into his noggin and tell him not to do so.

I donno i somehow feel, he will not back off once he is aware of Ananyas feelings, He clearly mentioned that he is not afraid becos fo any unsuccessful past relation.

He does have feelings for Ananya, He is possessive of her too, He is always lost in her and do want her in his life and will not back off.

He know ananya is the only person trusted him when entire office made comments on his life. now that person is doubting his character. natural he thinks she needs to live a happy and peaceful life that is because he loves her lot.

Until he seeing her refusing to accept him as womanizer there is chance for him to back off for her better life.

Once he see her trusting him he will not back off.

Thts the biggest question but i do believe its not going to be soon.. he mite not understand dt its for him which ultimately make ananya step back n hide her feelings... n some upcoming cases in Kkn mite require them to work together some field work and their feelings wud come out, out of others protectiveness and make them speak aloud.

merger process on the way, soon Kabir will be promoted to top level and Ananya will not get easy to meet him.

this is will put them in pressure. at this time she will notice his real side of Kabir. then real craving for seeing each other and heart feeling will get stronger.

Personally, I would prefer if he doesn't step back once Ananya takes the major first step towards him. I want him to be different and actually pursue this route towards happiness. But the fact remains there are many factors of his life that he may think that Ananya won't be able to handle or might get hurt with. He doesn't really know as of yet how the people of the office have tried to break KaYa, how many people have a problem with their relationship and how fired up they are to destory her just out of spite.
That makes me think he may not at first jump at the chance of her loving him back.
