without the grt dances thanx to prabhu deva nd remo... akela varun kuch nai kar sakta... yes he contributed in the success but not only he is to be credited for that...
film is a success bcoz of its superhit performances...his popularity...nd majority of dance lovers... DID is launching wat?? its umpteenth season(involving junior senior double moms battles nd all) nd ppl are still crazy for the new season...
so yeah...he is not the only paying hand

after watching abcd...i feel varun is more like a toddler...bachha khel raha hain...jaldh thakk jayegaa.

disappointment after badlapur.

ajay got plenty of 100cr films and a 140cr film

varun is racing ahead of ranveer and SID thats about it for the moment

He's obviously doing well for himself right now. But if his fan following really is kids and women (and what age group of women are we talking about here) what happens when these kids grow up? And when the next hot and happening thing comes along? I know this author thinks he wrote a very pro Varun article, but having a die hard fan in a 9 year old is not a sign of longetivity.

Giving 5 back to back hits is great and all. But when it all happens within 3 years, again, I don't think that's necessarily a sign of longevity either. Let the kid be around for double digit years at least before calling him a superstar. There was a time when Govinda kept giving hit after hit doing the same kind of movies. And while his fans disagree I still maintain that other than Badlapur all his other roles were more or less the same and Dilwale looks like it's up the same alley.

It's way too early to call him the next Salman Khan or the next SRK. On top of that the fear with elevating someone this much is that their fall will be that much worse.

Yes and the entire brand of ABCD, the first one being a success, it being a sequel, having well known faces like Dharmesh and Raghav (who pretty much the entire country recognizes) in a film about DANCE with 3D effects and Prabhudeva had nothing to do with it?

Right.

When will our industry stop crediting single actors for film success? I don't buy it unless you're a Khan.

All others are only as good or bad as their film's content and hype.

Why can't Varun be put on a pedestal? It's not like media is doing it 'ainvayi'. He actually proved himself with 5 back to back successes & deserves the accolades. If Ranveer despite of giving just 1 clean hit can be tagged as ahead of other newbies & at par with Ranbir, why can't Varun be given the same treatment?

Everybody fails & has low phases. Varun will too someday. Doesn't mean he & his fans shouldn't enjoy his present success & keep worrying about the uncertain future.
