Let's try and analyse Sid's character , the way he has behaved so far, the reasons etc etc etc..maybe then we will know if cv's have really made a villain out of Sid's character..
His basic character is that of a hot headed, impulsive, confident, flamboyant teenager who will draw attention to himself somehow or the other.. there are so many layers in his personality that its hard to understand him at times and what drives his actions are even harder to comprehend (Siyali was right- is ladke so samajna mushkil hai )
One can see his good side with his best friend Charlie..with Siyali and his grandmother Anwesha..
One can see his insecurities as a child yearning for his mother's attention and love when he is with Urmila.. his relationship with her is kinda strained..why does he stress on the fact, that he is Prateek Rajput's son, as if reminding his mother, that it's his name and reputation he has to live upto? Obviously the mystery of Sid and Utkarsh being Urmila's son and how they got separated is yet to play out..
But his extreme behavior patterns.. suggest that things are not the way they seem.. his behavior with Utkarsh is driven by plain jealousy seeing his own mother caring for someone who means nothing to them..
Just like anger is Parth's biggest weakness, ego is Sid's biggest weakness.. His own grandmother, who is closest to him, said that he must control his ego other wise he will always land in trouble..
It was his bruised ego that drove him to insult Siyali and call her names.. how dare she say that she wouldn't choose him if he was the last boy on earth? His immediate reaction was to insult her back and say things he didn't even mean.. who cares? As long as he is able to hurt her, the way she hurt him!! That is the ego kicking in, which Anwesha had warned him against..
Sid has many qualities.. we have seen several glimpses of those.. but his ego, his insecurities as a child tend to cloud his judgements most of the time, which pushes him over the edge..
So now the question..are cv's really ruining his character.. ?? I think not .. His enmity with Utkarsh is a build up for the ultimate revelation of his relationship with him.. and I don't think the story would have been half as interesting if Sid was just another good guy falling for good girl Siyali.. She is going to be the one who will change him for good.. 😊
